Thanks Troll! I've been looking forward to reading this series but for some reason I haven't started it yet. Food Lover's Village sounds like the perfect vacation spot. Now I have the perfect opportunity to read and visit. :)

Suzanne Hi Nell, Please add me to the list. I am definitely a serial cozy reader and saw the 2 books listed and thought we only read those. If you pick would pick for me that would be great.

message 74: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments I finished my first June challenge book, A Clue for the Puzzle Lady. I really like this series except for her drinking. I think that spoils things somewhat, but I have to say the plot was really good and the book held my interest all the way through.

message 75: by Jeanne (new)

Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments Finished my second June book, Last Puzzle and Testament by Parnell Hall. I am really enjoying this series. Thanks for choosing this for me, Karen.

message 76: by Lori (new)

Lori | 75 comments Finished the first of my June books, Plum Pudding murder by Joanne Fluke. It was pretty standard Hannah Swenson but it's sometimes good to go home to an old favorite.

message 77: by Lindy-Lane (last edited Jul 12, 2016 06:34AM) (new)

Lindy-Lane (moonbacklit) | 58 comments finished my first of the 2 that kathy picked for me this month:

Eggs in a Casket by Laura Childs june 4

definitely a good fit for my reading comfy pleasures. very humorously entertaining & warm fuzzy friendship characters reading. just with murder amongst their mix. :)

i found it interesting that the author Laura Childs is also tying in tea references in this series (also writes the teashop mysteries).

looking forward to reading another book in this series.

* remembering to update this reading status: finished another in this series 6.22 Eggs in Purgatory

I am so glad you picked these books for me!! I absolutely LOVED them :)

message 79: by Helen (new)

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments I've finished my first of Mary Daheim's Alpine series. I had already read number 3, so went back to find an ebook version of Alpine Advocate, the first in the series.
This proved a little complicated. Amazon would only offer a sample, so I downloaded it on Kobo, but could then only read it on the Booktopia app! I suspect these complications only exist because I live in Australia.
I liked the first book, although this series, so far, is not as funny as the B & B series. I've now stared reading a paperback version of Alpine Decoy.

message 80: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina I finished my first book of the Lady Arianna Regency Mystery Serie. At the beginning I had no motivation to read it, I needed over one week to read 80 pages! I was irrated by the abrupt beginning, the cussing and the fact, that I know nothing about the characters. You need to read the whole book to get a full picture about them. After the first 80 pages I began to like it, I like the under-cover investigation, the political intrigue and the historical background. And the swearing was more less.
By the way, English is not my natural language so I have a question: is the word "arse" bad language? Because the german word is really bad and this word is often use in the first 100 pages. I was a little bit irritated about this word.

message 81: by Mary (new)

Mary (mw8019) | 273 comments It is a Scottish word for "ass", it is bad language if you are trying to teach children to speak correctly, otherwise, I don't think it is too bad. it is better than "ass".

Hope that helps.

Mary

message 82: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina Thank you, Mary, for explaining. I know it means the back of a person, I didn't know the intention. So it's not really good but not the worst :)
Thank you for you help!

message 83: by Anne (new)

Anne Pichette | 147 comments I finished both of my books the coffee shop mysteries and really enjoyed them. I like seeing what everyone else is reading. It gives me ideas on what to try next.

Kay (Brigidsmomma) Compton (brigidsmomma) | 122 comments I've finished the Microbrew Murders series. A good little series, very interesting and enjoyable. 5 Stars all the way!

message 85: by Anna Catharina (new)

Anna Catharina Yesterday I finished my second June book which is also the second book of the Lady Arianna Regency Mystery Serie: The Cocoa Conspiracy
I found this book really good and a little more better than the first one. It was funny, dramatic and easy to read. I hope to read soon the third (and the last?) book of this serie :)

message 86: by Julesy (new)

Julesy | 409 comments Congratulations, Anne, Kay and Anna Catharina!

Julesy | 409 comments I finished my second book for my serial challenge tonight:
Cozy Mystery in the Mountains series by Liz Turner
Murder on the Menu A Cozy Mystery in the Mountains (Book 1) by Liz Turner COZY MYSTERY Trail Mix Murder A Cozy Mystery in the Mountains (Book 2) by Liz Turner

I enjoyed this series. The books are very short and very cozy. I enjoy the characters. There is one more book in this series which I already have so I will probably work it in during July.

Helen (helennn) | 1020 comments Finished Alpine Decoy back on June 22. I liked it better than the first one in the series, as the racial prejudice theme was excellent.
