Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Exactly. My book collection is all over the place

message 102: by [deleted user] (new)

Yep. But that's the way I like it. It can get boring reading the same genre for every book.

message 103: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments It really can be. I tend to read the same genre mostly, but every so often I go off on a tangent

message 104: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah, like right now I'm in a romance/mystery tangent, I know that after few more books I'll be done with the genre for a while. But branching off is always exciting since I go with genres I'm not used to, like non-fiction.

message 105: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Awesome! I usually read YA fiction or fantasy, but recently I've branched off into manga

message 106: by [deleted user] (new)

I love manga and anime! it's one of my secret addictions :p Are you enjoying the ones you've tried so far? Also did you get the message from Mad about the extension of the challenge? I just stated that big challenge I told you about so I'll just use the book I read for that challenge for this one as well.

message 107: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Really? That's cool! And yes, it's exciting!

message 108: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Oh and today is the power round, so we can put all our books into as many boxed sets as possible, and we can re-use them

message 109: by [deleted user] (new)

I'll make sure to do that later today then, I have company coming over so I should probably stop reading and get ready :p Glad you're liking the manga, I've got loads of recommendations once you know what you're looking for. Just let me know.

message 110: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Okay! And thanks! I'll make sure to let you know!

message 111: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Did you read any books that switched between different people's perspectives? Becuase I had 2

message 112: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments I also had two books that dealt with characters on a ship, so let me know if you had any books like that. Or even any books that focused on water?

message 113: by [deleted user] (new)

Sorry I couldn't get back to you!! If you haven't already finished all your boxed sets then yes I did read a book that switched perspectives, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I'll do all my sets right now.

message 114: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments I must have logged off right before you got on last night! Thanks though

message 115: by [deleted user] (new)

I saw your post in the reviews like 5 minutes before I got there. Our guests didn't leave until nearly midnight so I had maybe 20 minutes to think of a few boxed sets. We still have over 10 days left in the challenge so I'll be sure to make up for it :p

message 116: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Oh wow! And it's fine! Not many teams did the power round

message 117: by [deleted user] (new)

phew, that's a load off. it was kind of hard coming up with new boxed sets from what we'd done already.

message 118: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments It really was!! Oh, I noticed that you read a lot of Amanda Quick books. What type of books does she write?

message 119: by [deleted user] (new)

she writes historical romance and paranormal, but she also writes under two other names, Jayne Ann Krentz and Jayne Castle, and has series intertwining between them. she is one of my favorite authors, I absolutely love her writing.

message 120: by Nicole (last edited Jun 20, 2016 09:45AM) (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments That sounds interesting!

message 121: by [deleted user] (new)

yeah, she's a great author. I highly recommend her.

message 122: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments I'll definitely have to check out her books some time!

message 123: by [deleted user] (new)

So I have two books that can work together for a fantasy/adventure boxed set if you are reading something that can go along with that. If not, I also finished a romance and a mystery/psychological thriller. Just to let you know where I'm at with books at the moment

message 124: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments I have a fantasy/adventure book that I'm reading right now! I'm a little over halfway done with it. Sorry I haven't been reading a lot lately, I've had final exams for school

message 125: by [deleted user] (new)

no problem! good luck with your exams, I remember hating exams when I was in school. I suck at memorizing things, I'm more of a practical learner.

message 126: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Thanks! And I'm the same way. I prefer doing things than sitting and memorizing them

message 127: by [deleted user] (new)

Exactly! Don't worry about not reading as much, if you get all stressed out trying to read then it defeats the point.

message 128: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Thanks! And true

message 129: by [deleted user] (new)

What book are you readin right now? is it any good?

message 130: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments I'm reading Cress by Marissa Meyer. (I can't do the link because I'm on the app right now). It's the third book in the Lunar Chronicles series (the first book is Cinder.) It's so good!! You should check it out. There's 4 books in the series

message 131: by [deleted user] (new)

I've been wanting to read that series! my library doesn't have them and I haven't had a chance to go book shopping at a place that has them either. Though I went in for groceries today and came out of Walmart with 4 books, I'm such a book hoarder.

message 132: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments You'll have to let me know if you get them! And that sounds like something I would do haha

message 133: by [deleted user] (new)

I definitely will!

message 134: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments I'll be finishing my fantasy/adventure book soon so you can make your boxed set. Which books did you read for it?

message 135: by [deleted user] (new)

A Woman Worth Ten CoppersStarlighter are the two book I read for that boxed set.

message 136: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Those sound good!

message 137: by [deleted user] (new)

A Woman Worth Ten Coppers is a great series, Morgan Howell the author writes really immersive fantasy books. The other is good, but not great, I'm hoping for more from the rest of the series.

message 138: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Hopefully the series picks up for you

message 139: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm really hoping it does, I mean I love Dragons but I don't like how they are portrayed in this book.

message 140: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments How does it portray them?

message 141: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Are we able to use books in multiple boxed sets? I've seen other teams doing it

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

Basically the dragons look the same as usual, but they are really lazy. I'm cool with their arrogance and cruelness, but I hate the idea of Lazy dragons who would rather use slaves to do their work/hoarding of gold. it's just weird

Also I didn't think we could do that, I was under the assumption that it was put three books together then not be able to use them again. Except for that power round we did. Maybe there was another one and we missed it?

message 143: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Oh that makes sense why you don't enjoy the portrayal. I've never seen dragons portrayed as lazy before...

And I don't know, I thought we could only use them once as well

message 144: by [deleted user] (new)

Maybe we should ask one of the Mods, they would know.

message 145: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Okay! I messaged Madalyn

message 146: by [deleted user] (new)

alright, just let me know what she says.

message 147: by Nicole (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Okay! Because it would be great if we could reuse them

message 148: by Nicole (last edited Jun 26, 2016 01:52PM) (new)

Nicole (nicolemelnyk) | 134 comments Madelyn said you can't repeat them

message 149: by [deleted user] (new)

I thought so, I wonder what those other teams were doing then?

message 150: by [deleted user] (last edited Jun 26, 2016 10:08PM) (new)

I just finished a book called The Healer's Apprentice that I plan on using in a boxed set about FairyTale retellings. So I think we should use Cress in that set instead of the fantasy set.

What are you planning on reading next?
