Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments I'm a little over halfway through the first book, Sins & Shadows, and I am loving it!

It took a little time to connect to Sylvie, but I like her now. She's at a crossroads and I like how scary it kind of is.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Bummer Darcy. I thought it was, but I couldn't remember.

Actually I really like it. I think the world and characters are already so far along in their current lives that you can of fill like you're being placed in the story and it feels off at first.

I love the magic of the world. It's so cool.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments I don't remember, but here is my review. Even reading it I can't recall specific things, not good.

I had high hopes for this one, but I ended up giving it up. I made it through the first 3 chapters, wasn't sure about the heroine and the guy asking for her help was a prick! It also felt like I was missing something, like there was a book or some part of the story before the book, but it is #1 in the series. This one just wasn't for me.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments It's a group read right now and a lot of the members are saying it was the lead that put them off. Personally I found her head strong and a little bit darker then other leads.

Not like the none stop snark of a lot of the new stuff coming out.

The a lot of the them are liking it.

Darcy (sunnytat462) | 2770 comments It's funny how we can all read the same thing, but have different thoughts and feelings.

Shera (Book Whispers) (sherabookwhispers) | 2445 comments Agreed! That's what I love about group reads/buddy reads. Seeing everyone's view points and interpretation of things.

Sometimes it makes me give a book another try.
