Martha (marthais) No examples for this prompt as it could be anything! Also, to be clear, you don't have to struggle through a book you really hate for this task. If you give it another try (perhaps read more than you read the first time) and still don't like it, you can give up on it!

Discussion prompts
- What did you / will you read for this task? What did you think of it?
- Did you finish it this time? Was it better than you remembered?
- What made you give up on it the first time?
- Do you give up on books easily? How long do you give a book before you decide it's not for you?

Marina (sonnenbarke) For this task I read The House by the Medlar Tree, which I obviously read in Italian, being written by an Italian author :-) I liked it and gave it 3 stars. I would have given it a higher rating, but it was quite slow in the first few chapters and I wasn't impressed at first. It definitely improved after a while, and I would recommend it.

Yes, this time I managed to finish it and it was definitely better than I remembered.

The first time I gave up on it because I felt like it wasn't the right time for me to read this book. It definitely didn't help that it is not so great at the beginning.

Oh yes, I do give up on books quite easily. If I don't like it, I give up, that's a rule for me. I don't want to waste time with books I don't like. How long I give it depends on the book, really. For some books it's quite clear from the very beginning that I'm not going to like them, so I don't waste much time on them. Most times, however, I try to read at least 100 pages or more before giving up - depending of course on the length of the book!
