Jane Blythe | 112 comments Hi everyone

I was hoping for some suggestions on how best to use quotes from kids about my book. I have written two picture books for preschoolers, and although I don't teach full-time anymore I work as a substitute so I have plenty of contacts who are still full time teachers, and luckily for me some are happy for me to come and visit their classes to read my books and do some related games and activities. As part of that I want to take photos and also get some quotes from the kids on what they think of the books.

My first visit to a preschool is scheduled for June 6th and before I go I want to have some ideas of what I'm going to do with the pictures and quotes that I get during the session. I will have parent permission before using any of the photos or quotes from the kids, but am wondering how to make the most of having such fantastic access to my target audience. I will be posting pictures and quotes on my website and Facebook, probably twitter, but I'm wondering what else I should use them for? I was also thinking quotes could go somewhere on the book's amazon page, but wasn't sure where, maybe the editorial reviews section, but then again they aren't really editorial reviews? And also maybe I could use some quotes on the cover of the next book?

I'm not too good at marketing and promotion stuff, still learning, so any help, thoughts, ideas and suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Editorial sounds perfect to me for where to place them on Amazon.
As for the rest, maybe list the kid's age next to the quote, and tell the parents. They might appreciate knowing what other chidren thought.

Jane Blythe | 112 comments Thanks, Riley! I'm glad you said that about the kid's age, because I put in the parent consent form that I'd be using just the child's first name and age, but was then second-guessing myself and thinking maybe age wasn't important, but I left it it and thought it would probably be good to have it there, so I'm glad I did!

Tara Woods Turner Listing ages is beneficial. Also, there is a section on your Amazon page for information that is usually placed on the inside flap of a print book. This is an alternate location to consider if you don't really want to use the editorial review section, which is prime real estate and can not be changed easily once it is used.

Jane Blythe | 112 comments Thanks, Christina, that's a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. I was actually at work the other day and there was a local kids author doing a visit at a preschool I fill in at and he had an ink stamp made of his book character, I thought that was a super idea, so I thought I would look into that because kids tend to LOVE stamps! If I got a really good 2-3 word quote it may even be possible to put that on the stamp, as I'm thinking hand size would be a good size rather than one of the really small ones.
