Tommy Pakula turned over Monsignor O'Sullivan's papers to the press. What do you think of his decision to handle the situation this way?

[Charlene]

I think that, as an officer of the law, he was obliged to bring the archdiocese to accountability in whatever manner would be too powerful to sweep under the carpet.

[Robin]

I thought it was a brilliant idea. Obviously the Archbishop has a lot of power if he can have a revoke a scholarship or stop hospital funding. Who's to say he didn't have a lot of power with city hall and the police commissioner. The papers could easily have disappeared again. This way the story is going to come out.

I found his handling of those papers clever. It hit them where they seemed to be most concerned...in the court of public opinion.
