Yes, her books are definitely thrillers in the same vein as Karin Slaughter, Linda Castillo and Tess Gerritsen. They are definitely not RS.
However, those authors' romantic elements are better written. I certainly agree Kava's stories are in the same vein.
Not only does Adam appear, but also Nick Morelli, who seems to be ambivalent about being engaged to Jill. We don't see much interaction with Adam, just the possibility of dinner when he's going to be in for a conference. It seems that there was a misunderstanding about which man got the phone call and a woman answered. I didn't think it was Nick (but rather Adam). Can someone clarify whether this is a faulty recollection or a plot hole?
It was Nick. That happened in the last book.
There were several interactions with Adam and Maggie clearly states she's attracted to him and feels they're very compatible. They meet for lunch and plan to get together when he visits Washington, D. C. for a conference. Maggie spends a bit of time thinking about him throughout the story.

Thanks, I'm really glad it wasn't Adam who had the female answer his phone. I guess it's clear which guy is my first choice....
