Ray Powers was able to escape custody because Jerry and Kizmin failed to locate his side piece. How could something like this happen? Again, was he being treated differently because he was a cop?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Maybe they were tired beyond the point of exhaustion and failed to be as thorough as they should have been. They all seemed to be at their wits' ends and functioning on coffee and no sleep for long periods of time.

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments I keep wondering how they missed it. In the movies many cops carry an extra gun in their boot, so I was surprised they hadn't checked. Charlene, you're probably right about them being exhausted.

It's such a routine thing to do. I recall they were trying to not make a big scene taking him in and I think they just didn't follow the book on this one.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments This whole thing was a HUGE failing on the part of all three of them. Kizman should have done a better job, Edgar should never have dropped his guard with Powers and Harry shouldn't have given up his weapon.

It was just...bad. After having brilliantly set up that sting, they blew it all by sloppy handling of this guy.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments It felt contrived so that he could get away and the shoot out could be included with everyone in the same place.

May be. I saw his escape coming from a mile away.

You would think because he was a cop you would search him even closer. I am not sure how they dropped the ball.

Jim O'Donnell | 48 comments I think they were distracted by the strings attached that he was a fellow cop. No excuse at all, but that's what I think happened.
