Jamie Hanson (hgs1superfan) | 3 comments For my second saturation book I read The Crossover by Kwame Alexander. The first thing this book taught me about writing is that you can write a novel in different formats. The Crossover is written all in poem form instead of the usual novel form. The second thing that Kwame Alexander taught me is that you can change your text when writing a novel., He wrote different words in different fonts, bigger fonts, smaller fonts, adding extra spacing etc. to emphasize certain words or phrases. The third thing Kwame Alexander taught me is that you can write an entire novel in poem format and keep the entire poem in first person. A poem portraying different characters usually changes point of views, but instead the entire book is written from the main characters point of view.
