Bevis and Butthead amuses me - mostly because of the age i was and the friends I was with when I watched it in 1991.
Dick in a box, and most of that sort of humor from SNL is just so smug it makes me gag.

Yes - we were talking about this re: television shows not long ago as well. Humor is inextricable from the cultural context which produced it.

SNL sucks. I wish Justin Timberlake nothing but ill.
SNL used to be funny back in the early 90's. Remember Sprockets?
This song is fucking awful. Just putting that out there.

I didn't think Dick in a Box was funny, either, or the follow-up...Motherlover...both tried way too hard, in my eyes, anyway.
I'm not up late enough for SNL. And I don't know that I've seen a late night talk show since, oh, 1997.
Yeah, RA, what I know of SNL are shorts shared on FB and youtube links. I've not sat through the show in about 10 years or so.

*DING!*

::high fives Gretchen!::
I love Storm. She's a funny, nasty, ballsy Portland girl and I'm a huge fan. I am hoping to get to see her play live before we move. And, come on, this song was about luuuuurve, not about pussy. It's metaphoragorical-like.
Edit: singing along... Eight Miiiiles Wiiiiiiiiide!

I definitely interpreted this song as a metaphor. Fabulous Stormy bewilderingly taking the piss out of both patriarchal nonsense and feminist radicals in one fell swoop. And it made me giggle. I hope it made *some* of you giggle too. I do apologize for those who found it offensive.
I'll meet you all on the other side of my dissertation. AAGH!

Kev, that's pretty much all most of us could think about too. She's smokin' and has a great message! (And, she can piss like a racehorse... or next to a racehorse anyway.) LOL

RA, I'm exploring International Voluntary Service as an alternative to traditional development by interpreting it in terms of gift-giving and commodification. Trying to show how the 'blurred boundaries' of gifting and commodifying make the process a more manageable and negotiable vehicle for social change. It's based on ethnographic material in Tanzania and a Euro-American program. And I hope it's more interesting than that statement makes it out to be. LOL.
*taking deep breath and plunging back in*

Dick In A Box is unpopular with our fellow TCers (because I skimmed this thread), apparently.

However, the song did make me chuckle a time or two before I just couldn't take anymore.;)
This song should fit right in.
