Thanks, Tim Ward, for jumping on this. EP is finally on board (Yeesh! Took ling enough!), and rerady to engage. :)
Other than just to make sure that the review is seen, taking this extra step helps in two ways: first, it helps you as a reviewer gain more likes (if people choose to vote that way--we're not trying to rig anything); and secondly, it helps the authors see when a new review is posted so we can like it. When you like a review, it shows up in your feed, and then your friends can see it.
When you post the thread, I'd suggest only copying in a highlight-type portion to attract readers to click the link to the full review, which is where you'd have the option of liking the review, if you did.
You can also make a post about a review online, either at Amazon, Audible, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, etc, including a blog. Voting reviews as helpful on these sites helps the author, and if you see it on a blog, going over to join the discussion is a nice way of thanking the reviewer for taking time to review.
*This is not meant to be a way of arguing on negative reviews. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'd hate for this portion of our group space to be used as a way to find and argue with people because they came to a different conclusion on a book. Let us, as fans and representatives of Evolved Publishing, go out as respectful and encouraging members of society.
*Another note is let's not barrage with reviews here. One author friend says he likes one review a day on Goodreads. When you post reviews in here, there's the option to include it in your feed. This is good as a way to share with your friends, but too many in a row could lose its appeal. Just use your discretion in frequency.
Thank you for all of your efforts in this.
