This case was one of the more thorny to resolve because no one seemed to be forthcoming about details seemingly innocuous. Why do you think no one thought to share Simon Ashley's relationship to Lady Rosamond, et al? Did you ever suspect Samuel Ashley of having anything to do with the Bishop's murder?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments No, I have to admit that if her maiden name was mentioned when she was talking about her father, I just plain missed it, and I wasn't thinking that those missing papers from the man were still extant. I know I didn't associate Samuel Ashley, of the Bishop's office, with anything. He was barely noted as I was reading the book.

There were a lot of convolutions about which priest served which parish in years gone by, so my radar was turned off totally.

I was completely thrown when it was nonchalantly revealed that Lady Rosamond and Simon were siblings. That gave Simon a stronger motive than I'd been able to deduce up to that point.

Sebastian found it maddening how people were holding back info throughout the case. I did, too.

Joanna | 139 comments I guess no one thought it important. I was shocked to find out he was Lady Rosamond's brother.
