There were lots of twists and revelations in this story. Which caught you most by surprise? Which was/were the most shocking?

I think by how much violence was done in/to families, it may have been how many cuckoos were in nests or potential nests.

I already knew about Ben Franklin's son, so that shock was past history for me.

Now I'm dithering and thinking of the stench from catacombs under chuches and their reeking odors above ground.

The most surprising to me was finding that Hero was pregnant and Sebadtian asking her to marry him. I just hope thst they end up togethor.
