There are those who already know (Hendon and Amanda for example). I also think that Sebastian has his suspicions, even if only subconsciously. It will eventually come out and it will be interesting to see how it comes about.
I think Jarvis knows Sebastian isn't Hendon's son, too. Lovejoy now knows but wouldn't tell a soul. But those alive during that time can count and certainly are aware of the discrepancy in the dates.

We don't know that he hasn't....:)

Jonetta wrote: "We don't know that he hasn't....:) )"I think we would know if he had. Considering the tensions between the two men and the fact that they are political rivals, I don't think that Jarvis knows.
I think Jarvis knows. He probably knows to the date when their trip departed and returned. I'm so glad the aunt told Sebastian a reason why his dotty cousin would not make a good heir, whether her story was true or not.
I think Jarvis knows too. I can't see how he could not know given that he was on the same trip with Hendon. He knows they sailed in December and didn't return until mid July of the next year...and then Sebastian was born that October. There's just no way he couldn't know. Henrietta strongly implied that Hendon knows secrets about Jarvis too, and these secrets hold the two men at a point of detente with each other. I wouldn't be surprised if some of Hendon's other contemporaries also know but the ton seem to be pretty adept at accepting untruths if they're couched in polite fictions.

Lauren wrote: "the ton seem to be pretty adept at accepting untruths if they're couched in polite fictions. ."Agreed. Also, Sebastian isn't the first child to be born on the wrong side of the blanket and be accepted as the heir. With the laws of entailment, many men were willing to look the other way to keep their estates in the family.

Definitely!
Definitely!

I think Jarvis does know and is saving it for an opportune moment.
I think people have suspicions.

I would love for him to be with Hero. That would be a great surprise.
What I want to know is if anyone knows who his biological father is. Hendon claims he doesn't know but I think he's lying.

Not saying anything... ;0)
