Please - all you self-published authors that don't understand the editorial process (or the need for it). Editors can do so much for you. We may not be the gentlest people in the world - but that's our job. I'm writing this because I'm sick of the formula-based novels coming out of traditional publishing houses and maybe I'll cry/scream if I'm asked to edit another, but ... I'm inspired by a lot of self-published work. Don't waste your book. Read this article [below], find editors (there are more good editors of fiction than you could possibly imagine). Recite the mantra 'A Book Is A Team Effort'.
