OK, so it looks like Mustang has ulterior motives for dating Crassus. I hope we find out what they are.

I hope we get an explanation about how Darrow managed to get trained by the best fighter in the world.

The place I had to stop when I got to work was really bad. I can't wait to see what comes next. I'm glad this section is a lot better than the first was.

Wow this got so good..I cheered when Sevro showed up. And then we find out he's been recruited by Ares, and that Dancer isn't dead.

Oh not to mention them diving into that flag ship.

The inevitable betrayal by Titus or whatever his name is. And sadly a death of what's her name. Nice ones always die.

There is a lot more I'm forgetting (on top of all the names). I'm glad that Mustang was basically infiltrating, and not siding against Darrow.

Suzanne | 1582 comments This felt like pretty non-stop action to me. I was happy when Sevro showed up too - he just is so down to earth.

I had the same thoughts about Darrow's training. I think it happened in book 1 during the "do I really want to read this?" parts.

Bill | 1596 comments Darrow straight destroyed Cassius. I knew he had to find some way to win but didn't see him toying with him like that. The gala and Augustus house battles were awesome. I liked that they showed other houses using the chaos to their advantage also as it gave the world more depth. Shame about Quinn. Poor Roque can't catch a break with the ladies.

I love Sevro and the howlers. I like how they were the dredge of the institute draft but Darrow made them into something more.

The taking of the flag ship was fantastic on its own and then Ragnar enters and instantly became a favorite. Looking forward to learning more of the stained.

Yeah, I like Ragnar a lot too, but his name keeps making me think of Saxon Stories.

Jaime | 97 comments I am so glad Dancer didn't die. When reading that part and Harmony saying she only heard it, I figured he would be alive, but with these books I know deaths will happen. I just wonder how they will handle Harmony and her group because I don't think it will just happen in the background.
Yay Sevro! I was so happy he came back and what an entrance. Also to find out he knows who Darrow is and is still loyal, fantastic. Though the whole Quinn thing just made my heart break for him.

This whole part was entertaining and the flag ship section was awesome.

Yeah, I think Sevro's been my favorite character. I wanted to cheer when I found out he was with Darrow.

I do feel really bad about Quinn, even though I couldn't remember her name.

Bill | 1596 comments I have been amazed at how well Brown has been able to develop so many secondary characters.

Yeah. This book adds 4 more great characters to an already decently full cast: Ragnar, Victra, and the Telemonises. Oh and Orion. I'm sure I'm forgetting others too.
