Section 1

Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Prologue, Chapter 1-11.

I feel like this part suffers from many of the same issues part 1 of the last book did. It's boring, slow and mostly predictible.

I saw the baby thing coming in the first section of the last book. I guess I'm glad to get it out of the way.

What I'm confused about is what Mustang is up to. I don't get how/why she's with Crassus. Then again, I don't get why he'd be with her either. Their families hate each other.

Even if Mustang is better than her father/brother, she loved the brother killed by Crassus's family.

Crassus I could see doing out of spite for Darrow.

I wonder if there really is an Aries or ever was. Maybe it was actually Dancer. I'm sorry to see him dead. I'm guessing there wasn't.

The bomb is a stupid idea though. And using his dead child is petty. I'm guessing even if Aries is real, he's not calling for the bomb and what's her name has gone rogue after the death of Dancer.

Oh and all of Crassus's family come off like cartoon villains. I get Crassus anger/blood feud. The rest of them those just seem like stupid, petty 1 dimensional.

I don't much like the Governor's aid who sets up Darrow either. I get his motivations, and there are plenty of people like them who are ambitious, cruel and like to gloat as their doing it. Maybe it's just become such a trope that it bores me.

Jaime | 97 comments Yeah not really enjoying the Red rebellion. I can't believe they just turned into the thing they claim to hate.

I hope Dancer isn't actually dead.

Still waiting for Sevro to return.

That's a good point about the Red's. Thing certainly look bad for the Sons.

Bill | 1596 comments I wish there had been more of the school trope with the ships.

I'm glad Darrow decided not to use the bomb and find another way. Harmony seems like she has lost site of their cause. Maybe losing Dancer was too much for her after losing her kids.

Cassius is totally with Mustang out to spite Darrow and maybe she is doing the same. Seems like he may have treated her poorly.
