When Meera was telling her story and got a little side tracked Bran goes:

"Nevermind about all that, tell about the jousting!"

I was just as guily! I wanted to hear what was next. Lol

I think Bran was pretty lucky to have ended up with Meera and Jojen. They are friendly, wise and just all around good people.

Brianna (bebecburt) | 562 comments thoughts while reading:

"It was different when there was a Stark in Winterfell. But the old wolf's dead and young one's gone south to play the game of thrones, and all that's left is is the ghosts."
"Old stories are like old friends... You have to visit them from time to time."
I feel like this story is kind of important and something that actually happened.

Ria (ban1chka) | 440 comments Well, I think the crannogman was Meera and Jojen's father, the pups were the Starks (they are four - Lyanna is the she-wolf, Brandon, Benjen and Ned, judging by their age Bran is the wild wolf, Ned is the quiet one and Ben is the pup). Rhaegar is the dragon prince obviously (notice how the she-wolf (Lyanna) wept when he sang). And the Lannister lord (Tywin) wasn't there, because he and the king (Aerys) had fought - (not sure if that's a spoiler, but Tywin was angry with Aerys because (view spoiler). (view spoiler) I only wonder who the woman woth the purple eyes is. She danced with someone from the kingsguard, a Martell, the griffin lord, and Ned. She must be a Targaryen if she's got purple eyes, she could only be Rhaella, or however her name is written - Aerys's sister and wife. But we've read nothing about her, I had to look up possible "maids with laughing purple eyes" in the Targaryen family tree on the back of A World of Ice and Fire.

So yeah, the story did happen and Ned was there, which is why Jojen kept asking Bran if his father jad truly never told that story. Honestly, it's Jojen's questions that make me so sure it's all true.

I am reading your comments now. I am partway through A Feast for Crows. I definitely want to read the series over and over and over and over,

I don't even remember any of what Ria has written about. I guess there will be no problem remembering too much of the books for a reread. Lol

Yeah, I assumed that's why only Brianna and I are writing here. It's really hard to remember what happened in a chapter you read weeks ago.

But yeah, you should definitely re-read the series. Forget about remembering, I didn't even realise half of the things that I see now when I was first reading. I know I'm saying it for probably the 100th time, but it's like reading a completely different story. And when you know the general plot, you can pay much closer attention to all the hints and details.
