The Lilac Festival on Mackinac is amazing...so many lilacs. Do you have any in your yard? Bring them inside and they make the whole house smell amazing.

Our lilacs are done blooming. we had then inside though. One of my favorite scents is lilac!! Now our peonies are blooming and they smell divine

You all have about two months of spring and it’s amazing. Lucky you. We have about two/three weeks till the peonies bloom. I just love them! Heavenly.

Unfortunately our actual Spring weather only lasts about a week. The plants just have to catch up here in middle TN. I posted some photos of the peonies on facebook. I am Betty Tyler there, lol

The city that I live in has a Festival called the "RiverFest" every year in the early summer. This year it starts on June 3rd and runs for about 8 days.

We have taste of Cincinnati here and it’s amazing. Get to sample so many places. It’s a fun time and really brings in a huge crowd. It’s Memorial Day weekend and a kickoff to summer.
I looked at our Lilac bush here in Norther Indiana today, still tiny buds. It was 38 last night. Very cold this May! I was hoping I could take a branch into my mom (she is in assisted living) on Mother's Day. I don't think they will be open yet. :p

It was in the 70s today, but the lilacs still look unhappy.

I remember when I was young, a good friend of mine and I used to put together some May Day Baskets. We filled them with Lilacs ( from a lovely Lilac bush ) - and left them on neighbors front doors. ( I think we had a way of tying them to the screen door ).
We rang the doorbell...and then ran. =)
