Hi guys,
Anyone have any suggestions for June's group read??
Please remember that if you leave a suggestion you should be prepared to run the discussion thread should it win.
Thanks,

I'm going to suggest The Gunslinger.

Exanimis | 183 comments I have never entered one of these group reads but the Gunslinger is on my to read list. I believe I might give it a try if the Gunslinger is chosen.

Nanci | 4 comments I hadn't heard of this King novel. I've read a few of his and would be up for reading this one. It sounds like it could be quite unusual from the reviews.

I've read the series and I loved it. They are in the process of making it into a movie at the minute so I wanted to read it before the movie. Also, I read the gunslinger on the plane on the way to my honeymoon. That will have been 10 years this year so I thought it would be appropriate.
Anyway, word of warning, The Gunslinger is weird, very weird. It kind of doesn't make sense until you've read the whole series.
Sorry for the rambling message! :)

Exanimis | 183 comments It took me years to finally get through a King book, so far I have read about 7 and only liked one. I don't like his writing and every book I have read is as Carol stated "It kind of doesn't make sense until you've read the whole series."
I am willing to bet that this book will have,
One creepy kid
One bible thumper who starts all of the trouble
and at least one thing that doesn't exist and shouldn't even be in the book like a double barrel pump shotgun.
However, like I posted above, I have read at least one of King's books that I enjoyed ( Half Past Midnight) and I am always looking for a decent series to read so the Gunslinger is on my to read list.
