Probably The Shawshank Redemption. The scene where Andy plays classical music from the warden's office gets me every time.
Hard to pick one. Either Forest Gump or Gone with the Wind.
Also, something about Cold Mountain and Brother Where Art Thou too that make them favorites too!

Years ago I saw Whale Rider. It moved me so and I never forgot it. I experienced that film with my entire body. I have no idea what I would say now. Just saw Dough, and it was wonderful. All time favorite, I'll steal from Dough. How about Singing in the Rain?

OMG ... was at the symphony last night for a performance of Verdi's Requiem. As the soprano and mezzosoprano were singing I thought of this exact scene! (Different opera, but still ...)

Have you served in the military? Do you have family members who have served?

I have never served but my father (who was in Vietnam), my uncles, my grandfathers (in WWII and Korean), and I can just keep tracing my family serving in the military and through pretty much all major US conflicts and wars until the most recent ones.

My husband was in the Air Force, my dad is ex-Navy and my father-in-law is ex-Army.

I was in the Army Reserve. My father (and several uncles) served during WW2 ... my father was in the Pacific for 33 months, making 7 landings with MacArthur's troops, and with one of the first units to go into Hiroshima after we dropped the bomb. My husband was an Airborne Ranger in Vietnam - stepped on a land mine, and still has shrapnel in his body. Several of my cousins also served in Vietnam - one was a gunner on a helicopter gunship - they were shot down - twice!

Happy Anniversary! I love Halloween. No pressures, but lots of fun decorating and watching my young'n get excited about what she's going to be each year.
My favorite movie is actually a collection of what I call "guilty pleasure flicks". Anytime one of them is on, I will watch it. My husband knows this and will keep it on that movie. Twister, The Mummy, The Mummy Returns (Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz in both of these), Guardians of the Galaxy, Tombstone, This is Spinal Tap....a few more, but these are top of the list...

My husband retired from 20 years in the Air Force in 2005. All my uncles served in WWII, my grandfather was in WWI, and I have a nephew who is training for a career in the Navy.

Shakespeare in Love - it's so intelligently written, and each time I see it I notice another little reference or inside joke that I hadn't caught earlier.
