It's May! What is the weather like where you live? It's STILL snowing here in Colorado!

message 2: by Paige (new)

Paige P (paigepradko) | 74 comments Still snowing? Oh my gosh! Spring is finally here in Michigan. Usually 60-70 degrees, but today it is cloudy with a few spots of showers.

message 3: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (trakka) Hooray! We finally had sunshine. My husband came home from watching rugby union sunburnt!

Cool and Rainy in Wisconsin .. though the sun did come out for a few minutes this afternoon ... while I was in the grocery store ... literally. It was cloudy when I parked the car and went inside, it was sunny when I walked out, and cloudy again when I was driving home.

message 5: by Monica (new)

Monica (monicaspruit) | 197 comments Last week we had every kind of weather; sleet, hail, rain, storm and a bit of sunshine. Today, it's nice and sunny, and towards the end of the week it promisses to be really warm.

message 6: by Tanya D (new)

Tanya D (tdrosebud) | 19 comments We've had quite a bit of rain, but the temps have been warmer. Today's a good day, sunny without humidity and in the upper 60's

message 7: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissasd) | 948 comments It's been sunny and warm here in Tennessee. We are getting some much needed rain today.

message 8: by Marti (new)

Marti (coloreader) I'm with Leah (literally!). Colorado had several days of heavy, wet snow and rain. I think where she lived got a bit more. Today it's blue skies and warmer temps!

May 3 (Tuesday): How often do you cook your own food?

message 11: by Tracey (new)

Tracey (trakka) Leah wrote: "May 3 (Tuesday): How often do you cook your own food?"

Just about every night... Well my husband does LOL! I work, he cooks and looks after the girls.

message 12: by Marti (new)

Marti (coloreader) Almost never. My husband is on the road most weeks and I am alone for meals. Weekends, we go out or he cooks.

As long as I'm feeling well, I cook dinner. I haven't felt well the last couple weeks so the husband has been in charge mostly.

message 14: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissasd) | 948 comments Leah wrote: "May 3 (Tuesday): How often do you cook your own food?"

Same as Tracey, just about every night. My husband cooks on the days I work.

message 15: by Monica (new)

Monica (monicaspruit) | 197 comments Leah wrote: "May 3 (Tuesday): How often do you cook your own food?"

I cook just about every night. Sometimes, when I will not be home in time for dinner, and I tell my children this, their reaction is usually "Surely Dad's not going to cook! Can we get take-out?"
Which I think is strange, because my husband can cook just fine. :-)

message 16: by Paige (new)

Paige P (paigepradko) | 74 comments My husband and I have switched the roles of "family chef" a few times in our marriage. He primarily cooks on the weekend, and on Sundays, we both make at least one meal to eat during the week when we get home from work.

May 4 (Wednesday): What's the one thing you would tell your younger self?

message 18: by Paige (new)

Paige P (paigepradko) | 74 comments Don't date anyone in college, just study and enjoy your friends. Also, it would have been nice if I would have studied psychology from the get go, instead of forcing myself to get that degree in Finance. And, don't worry so much about the kids - they will grow up to be fine young men. (I guess I have a lot I would like to have told my younger self.)

Get your degree first, then get married. I love my husband, but wish I had gotten my nursing degree.

All the robins in the air and the bunnies hopping around.

Instead of robins, I look for Red-winged Blackbirds. When I see my first one, I believe it's spring (even if it snows after that date ... cough, cough)

Marti (coloreader) Leah wrote: "May 6 (Friday): Do you believe in ghosts?"

Maybe not ghosts, but spirits. Is there a distinction? Anyway, my daughter lived in a haunted house in college. It seemed the spirits were children, and they were not malicious. They would open kitchen cabinets or walk up and down the stairs. My DD once was trying to study and "someone" was walking part way up the stairs and back down. She finally yelled, "please stop, I am trying to study!" They did.

Today was flower planting day! Had a nice visit from my oldest son & daughter in law and yesterday had a great breakfast visit with my younger son and in the evening went to see Jay Leno perform at a charity event. Really a perfect Mother's Day weekend.

I went to my momma's this weekend - we went to a painting class then went back to her place and had spaghetti, wine, Yahtzee playing, talking. I came home tonight to spend time with my own son. It's always a day that weighs heavy on me - makes me miss my first son even more. But overall, it was a great mother's day weekend

May 9 (Monday): What was the last movie you watched? Did you like it?

message 37: by Paige (new)

Paige P (paigepradko) | 74 comments Leah wrote: "May 9 (Monday): What was the last movie you watched? Did you like it?"

We watched, "Meet the Patels" a documentary on Netflix about an Indian/American man who tries to meet a wife through his family's network & customs. We absolutely loved it and fell in love with the Patel family.

Ha ha ha! I also wished I had done something different to Finance. My eldest is showing a love of maths and I am thinking uh oh, this is how I started, please don't become an Accountant - do something far more exciting!!!

The Big Short and I loved it. I saw back in February and haven't seen any movies since!

message 40: by Marti (new)

Marti (coloreader) I recently watched Midnight Cowboy for the first time. I liked it. In the theater I saw The Revenant last and LOVED it, even if Leo didn't look like Leo.

Love Midnight Cowboy. A classic. I'm so old I remember watching it in the theater when it first came out.

A bit of trivia. Believe it or not, Midnight Cowboy was rated R back in the day. Quite tame by today's standards. It is the first R rated movie to win an Oscar.

I have a whole stack of recipes that I have printed out from different websites that my husband wants me to throw away. I can't because there are many good recipes that I want to try. I do go through it every now and then and make one.

Answering a day late, but glassware and dishes that I rarely use however feel they might come in handy sometime. Also, some of my old books from college that are totally out of date and I probably will never read again. :)

Actually it was rated "X" ! First (and I think only) X-rated movie to ever win an Oscar.

Clothes that don't fit and will never fit (and even if they do, are hopelessly out of style ...)
