Hi All,
My name is Lisa A. and am (re)introducing myself, as beyond April I had to take an extended break from most of my activities on Goodreads. My reading levels tanked for about six months. Happily, I now have more time to participate in groups and to tackle my tbr list. Briefly, historical fiction is among my favorite genres but I also enjoy classics, non-fiction, short stories and some contemporary novels.
I live in California and it has been a rough autumn for many people. Locally, we have been impacted by smoke and poor air quality but are otherwise okay.
Thanks for accepting me into the group. I look forward to upcoming book discussions and the new short stories anthology/schedule.

Hi Lisa, I'm glad you're back. The new short story schedule will happen in January. Looking forward to your input on the discussions there.
Thanks for the warm welcome! I am gearing up for group reads beginning with The Burglar's Christmas. :-)
Barbara- I'll look forward to the new short story schedule in January. Thank you.

Hi all - I just joined the group and am looking forward to being part of the community. My primary areas of literary interest are poetry, classics from about 1850 onward, modern "Literature," classics in translation primarily from NYRB - and more poetry! I also read historical and archeological works pertaining to ancient and middle age cultures. Generally I get through around 3-4 books per month, though I will admit that one of those per month is in the sci-fi/fantasy genre (late night reading can't be TOO heavy - lol.) I think my texting finger just cramped - I will stop now.
hey all. i'm eric and lately i've become a bookworm and been inspired to write my progressive story may i put it here for help writing it?
Eric wrote: "hey all. i'm eric and lately i've become a bookworm and been inspired to write my progressive story may i put it here for help writing it?"Sorry, Eric. We aren't that kind of group. Maybe you can find a writing group that would be helpful to you.
Thanks for accepting me into the group. I look forward to joining the discussions.I live on Long Island, in the suburban sprawl of New York City.
In 2015, I retired from biomedical research and teaching at the local University but now I am considered returning part-time.
I read a mix of non-fiction, fiction, poetry and short stories.
Hi Joan, welcome to CR. Just saw your post on the Short Story thread re KJ Orr's Disappearances. Glad you could join us. Retiree also here, now reading, writing and travelling in my campervan :) Based in Suffolk in the UK.
Hello, I’m a database developer from Southeastern New England. I love reading and appreciate the ways Goodreads enhances the enjoyment of reading by helping me organize, plan, and share the experience. Although I don’t review every book I read, it’s fun to do so occasionally, often spontaneously, when at the end of a novel, a collection of short stories, or a work of nonfiction—perhaps, a few days later—I might have something to say about the author or the book, some universal truth or related personal meaning, some observation or insight, or simply an expression of delight.
I have been remiss for a while. Welcome to all the new members. I really hope everyone will join in the discussions.
Hi I’m Macey, I just got started on Goodreads and really wanted to join a group. I look forward to discussing some books with everyone!
Although I am not really new to the group, I want to tell everyone that I just bought tickets to The Ensemble for The Romantic Century in NY City. If anyone is going to the same matinees perhaps we can meet for lunch or post performance drinks. https://www.romanticcentury.org/Send me a message if you are interested.

Hi everyone,I was a member of Constant Reader several years ago. I've been a member of GR for 10 years but haven't been active for a few years. Life kept me too busy to participate in groups or even to read for fun very often. Now I'm back. I'm a Psychologist in private practice in Boulder, CO. But I was raised in Los Angeles and spent 20 years in NYC. I am an avid reader of historical fiction, literary fiction, memoirs and certain types of crime/spy novels and thrillers. I look forward to sharing ideas with all of you about books. :))
Hi Anne , welcome back. I too haven’t been as active in the last couple of years. We are already friends here at CR. Nice to hear from you.

Hello Everyone,My name is Angela and I live on the edge of a forest in the Rocky Mountains, Colorado. Following a military career in the UK, I moved to the USA in 1998. I went back to college late, studying English Literature and Anthropology (BA) and History (MA). I taught history at the college level for a short while before moving into an Education role on the corporate side. Thank you for accepting my request to join your group. I read broadly across genres and formats and your group description was very appealing to me. I am very excited to see the books currently listed and the upcoming reads. The nominations for the next six months are wonderful too and there are at least four of them sitting in my stacks waiting to be read, so I am very happy to have found this group. Looking forward to meeting some of you in the discussions.
