Hi, my name is Carol. I have been a member of the group since 2009. I like to paint, draw and sing and of course read. I retired two years ago from a 46 years career in the hair industry.

Hi, my name is Drew and I am a community college librarian in southeastern Washington state (the dry part). When I'm not reading, working, or sleeping, I train and compete in dog agility. Who thought I'd actually get involved in a sport for the first time in my 60s?I just finished A Gentleman in Moscow and loved it. To me it was a beautiful fairy tale about the indomitability of the human spirit.

Hi, my name is Jessica. This is the first online discussion group I have joined, so I will be working on a bit of a learning curve. I wanted to join this group because I love discussing books with others. To me, books are not static and change depending on who is reading them, and I love learning what a book means to others.

Welcome from me as well, Drew and Jessica! From your introductions, I am betting that you came to the right place. We love having new participants in our discussions.
Hello. I'm an avid reader (and aspiring writer) from Cleveland, Ohio, looking forward to being part of of book group. Nice to see that David Mitchell is on deck. Since he's my favorite writers in recent years, and "Black Swan Green" one of his best. Look forward to re-reading it.
Thanks for letting me know about the new book! I'm a copywriter by trade, and a reader, gardener, and lover of trees and trails by avocation. I am a Chicagoan by birth and, although I currently live in Minnesota, I've left my heart somewhere on the Olympic peninsula. Glad to be on board and I look forward to engaging with the group.
Welcome to the group, Leo! Please do join in on our discussion of Black Swan Green, starting off in a few days' time.Leo wrote: "Hello. Hello all. I love reading, knitting, museums and gardening. This is my first online group, so I'll get the knack after a while!
I'm just coming to the end of an Open University history degree, so may, at times, be distracted . . .
I'm looking forward to opinion on Black Swan Green; I've read it twice, and loved it. Other people did not necessarily share my opinion though!
It will be good to get your views on Black Swan Green, Caroline. Good to hear!I'll be opening up the discusssion thread tomorrow.
Hello all! I just love the way of discussions and sharing each ones thought in this. This is my first online group. So I'll get to know about this better in a while I guess I recently got married and I found that reading books are my new hobby. And also by seeing this thread I'm inspired to read more.
Unfortunately haven't got the copy of Black swan green. I wish to get one soon and share my thoughts too.
Dear Melissa, your way of description about this book is urging me to read it as soon as possible. Thanks for that.
Good day everyone!
Welcome from me, too, Priyanka. Make sure you find your way to the discussion of Black Swan Green in the Reading List folder.
Hi,It looks like I have been a member of this group, but I have not been active. I got a notice about the February discussion of Farenheit 451 and I am looking forward to joining in.
I am an avid reader of historical fiction, some non fiction and memoir. Science fiction is a bit out of my comfort zone, which is why I want to join this group discussion.
My profile shows a few other details about my interests.

Hello, my name is Kevin Kuhn. I've been a King fan for a long time - first book was Dead Zone which I loved, but The Stand hooked me forever. I've read most of his novels and short stories, but still have a few to do. He inspired me to write and publish my own novel which has been a wonderful adventure. My favorite genre is science fiction and I love it when Mr. King drifts into that space. I'm glad to be part of the group.
Hi, I'm Piyumi :)Thanks for accepting my request to join this group. I'm currently reading Virginia Woolf's To the Lighthouse (second work of VW for me) and Alexandre Dumas Queen Margot and Lee Child's Killing Floor.
I'm a PhD graduate from Glasgow University and for the longest time I've had to read text books related to my thesis on Media and Cultural Studies.
Now that is done and dusted, I'm catching up on my reading list (hence my aim at tackling three novels), rereading classics and finding new ones that I would not have picked given a chance.
This year I've set myself to read ones out of my comfort zone, and hope this group can help :)
Hi, I'm Piyangie. Many thanks for accepting me in to this group. I read a wide array of books but this year I have focused more on classics, finding and reading new as well as rereading the ones I loved. I saw that Black Tulip by Dumas have been listed as May read. It is my favorite Dumas so far. Looking forward to finding books and reading with you all.
By the way, would love to have some Constant Readers as friends on Goodreads if anyone is interested.
Hi, my name is Jeannie. I looooove Classic novels, books and books in translation. I just finished Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress. There were several books that were mentioned that immediately went onto my "To Read" list. Constant Reader is starting one shortly. I am delighted to be accepted into the group. It's wonderful to share thoughts with others who are reading the same book.

I have been a member of Goodreads for years and even met a book buddy here that I communicate with regularly now. I have never discussed a book before on this site and would like to ask a question of readers of A Gentleman in Moscow. I adored this book and am having trouble letting it go and moving on. My question: "Why did Count Rostov publish the poem and not his friend who actually wrote it?"
Oh, I am glad you read the book with us, Sylvia! Please hold on to that question (and the answers, everyone else). Carol should be posting the opening note for this discussion some time today under the Reading List topic. Then, all the talk will be easy to find under that heading.
I was hoping to follow the discussion on A Gentleman from Moscow but can't quite figure out how to do that. Obviously, I'm new in following a book discussion! Just exactly where do I go, will posts come to my email, etc? I don't see the Reading List topic, so sorry to be so dense!
Hi I'm Elizabeth,This is my first Goodreads group and I am looking forward to discussing books with you.
I mostly read well known classics but am willing to try most genres :)
Hello,I'm Macala and I'm in Oregon. I'm looking forward to reading and discussing with all of you. Please give me a little leeway while i get use to this app. I am legally blind and it is always a learning curve with new apps. This app seems rather visually impaired friendly so far, which makes me hopeful.
Good readings to all of you,
Macala

Welcome, Macala. I hope you take part in our discussions. Nice to have you here.
Welcome, Macala! I'm glad to hear that the goodreads app is accessible for the visually impaired. I also access it directly from the internet sometimes which gives you more options.
Hi! I’m Lisa and am from the sunny state of Florida! I have been on GoodReads for many years, but a new friend suggested I join this group. I retired over a year ago and have dedicated 2017 to reading and reviewing as many books as I want. I’m up to 110. Mainly fiction, biographies and mysteries. Looking forward to participating in the group. Thank you for allowing me to join.
Hello, Lisa. If there's one thing Constant Reader loves, it's people who read constantly. At 110 books, I'd say you qualify!
