What do you think would make an interesting Quarter Quell?

Fruit_salad Does anyone have some interesting ideas for what could have been the variation if there was a 4th Quarter Quell? In the first quell, the districts had to vote on who their tributes would be. In the second twice the amount of tributes were reaped, and in the third, the tributes were reaped form the existing pool of victors.

Nikita The 4th Quarter Quell's tributes will be siblings. Each district will offer up two pairs of siblings to enter the Hunger Games. The arena a building landscape with traps, goodies and other surprises for the tributes to face until only one set of siblings or one is left standing.

That's creative! Probably they wouldn't let both siblings in a group live. :/

There's also the possibility that there would be another political motivation, so it would be designed to target one person. Or having two Games in one year, maybe. Or the parents have to go in the Arena with the children. Or the parents of the losing tributes are killed when they die.

Cintia Wow we really are thinking cruel ways, but as it is fiction I guess it is just creativity. Interesting question, by the way!

A Quarter Quell could be, instead of sending a girl and a boy, reap two girls, or two boys in each district. It could be Games entirely with girls, or boys.

Or, for example, if the last victor of the Hunger Games was someone from District 12, then for the next year's Games, that District is exempt from sending tributes (Quarter Quell or not). It would give more reason to support their own tributes during the regular Games.

Or, maybe, for example, when they are waiting for the countdown to finish to run to the cornucopia, one tribute from each district (only one - perhaps the ones with the highest score during training), gets a headstart, but without attacking each other (that would be a rule) so she/he can go, pick the weapons/backpacks safely, and run, though facing the perils if you haven't finished when the countdown ends, and all the other tributes are released.

If I get more ideas, I'll write them, this is fun...!

esther no victor. so basically being selected is an instant death sentence.

Emma A gigantic house. Like a palace. No way of going beyond the gardens, they're all just in a massive mansion with lots of rooms, hallways, and places to hide. I don't know, but that sounds cool :)

Doing that from the start would take away the hope, the point of the Games. But maybe they could set it up as a secret Quarter Quell, then at the end, just not say anything to the victor and force them to confusedly live out the rest of their short life in the arena?

Wow, this got dark.

Yeah. But how about letting them stay in the ring till the final person then head game maker announces the twist then an army of crazy muts consume the Victor. Just like how they announced only one winner was possible after giving peeta and katnis hope of two Victor's in the first book. I like your touch though. But people might get bored. It's a reality TV show after all.

Ooh, good point! I think the mutts would work well. Of course, thinking realistically, this might be bad for ratings, so they'd have to take a ton of precautions throughout the games to make everybody look bad. Like presenting them with moral dilemmas, or having the enemies be adorable puppies, lol.

Hehehe #sinister_laugh I really like the way you think. Lol. I like the puppies bit. That's gold. The Capitol would love that. Those people would kill for a little drama. Literally, they would(hunger games. Lol)

I think they should hire us. We would make excellent game makers

We would. Which is a bit disturbing, if you think about it too much...

esther Don't think. Just do.

Okay this is horrible advice coming from me. I'm not usually this sick and messed up. Hope my blog doesn't get wind of this. Lol

Mary The 12 year olds have their names put in 7 times, the 13 year olds 6, 14 year old 5, etc.

Mirkat Within the world of the book series, the only people who would sit back on their comfy couches and think in terms of "interesting quarter quells" would be residents of the Capitol, since they're the only ones not forced to send their children into the games to fight to their death.

I love this idea!

Cintia Thanks, though, thinking ideas for a Quarter Quell is kinda... awkward

Anna I think that 10 boys and 10 girls from each district should be picked. Then the people in the Capitol should be forced to get to know them and pick one boy and one girl to compete.

I just want the Capitol to feel bad.

Cintia The Capitol should be forced to send tributes too

Yes, I agree. But we have to remember that a big issue in Mockingjay was deciding whether or not to send Capitol children into the arena. I think its a great opportunity for revenge ect. And I wish it would have happened in the books.

Cintia Yes. I would have voted yes to have a simbolic Hunger Games, but without being deadly. I mean, not making the tributes fight to the death, but without them knowing. They needed to feel the same fear, hunger and desperation those thousands of kids (and their families back home) suffered since the first Games.
