Fishface | 18916 comments What unlikely factor do the family murders connected to the Lyles Restaurant in Macon, GA, the Los Angeles Night Stalker crimes, the murder of Mark Kilroy during spring break 1989 in Texas, and the shooting of Circle K convenience store clerk Robert Bower all have in common?

message 2: by Shelley (last edited May 01, 2016 04:22PM) (new)

Shelley | 1225 comments All the murderers were into cults; satanism, voodoo, black magic, etc.

message 3: by Fishface (new)

Fishface | 18916 comments Well, that's close enough for a DING DING DING because although they didn't all belong to cults by any means, they were all into some form of magical practice.

BONUS QUESTION:

Which of these cases did NOT bring the subject of witchcraft up in court, as a defense or for any other reason?

message 4: by Shelley (last edited May 03, 2016 02:56PM) (new)

Shelley | 1225 comments Yeah, as soon as I wrote that about cults, I thought of taking that out because I didn't mean "organized" cults.

Bonus Question: I am thinking it must have been a case where the prosecutors weren't allowed to mention anything about witchcraft because it was deemed to be too prejudicial. Something along those lines. So, I am going to guess and say it was Richard Ramirez's trial ... for the above reason and also because he was a satanist and not a witch anyway.

Fishface | 18916 comments NOT Rick Ramirez, sorry! BZZT!

the shooting of Circle K convenience store clerk Robert Bower

message 8: by Fishface (new)

Fishface | 18916 comments DING DING DING! CORRECT! (Although none of Sean Sellers's killings were treated seriously as Satanic in motive -- not just the Circle K clerk.)
