Surprisingly so. Loved this guy for his humanity in dealing with people dependent on him in sea of poppies. Even in this book with Raju he was considerate.

A few screens ago got introduced to Raj Rattan. Now accompanying Kesri and his scaredy cats on their journey aboard the Hind.

Recognized Raj Rattan the moment he was introduced. The name itself such a big clue.

even at this juncture in the book, he is introducing new characters :-/
what happened to ah fatt, i say! is he even mentioned in the end?!

The second half of the book is better and more purposeful...

Not that I have any sympathies for Catherine Burnham and dont really care for Captain Mee, but i feel like slapping Zachary...

His dealing with Captain Mee was bad enough, but with Mrs.Burnham he was a demon...

I slept off just after Zach sees Mee and Mrs. Burnham talking and suspecting about their friendship. Want to finish this off today itself.
I too had a soft corner towards Zach in the first book. Yet to see his transformation to a complete villain.

Liked Cathy towards the end.
Why is See to totally ignores. I feel there are huge gaps in her and Kalua's narratives.
Hope Paulette has the food sense not to marry Zachary.
