Ancilla.M | 15 comments LAURA'S MANSION

The book I and Michelle read is Woman in White. One of the character is Laura, and we are describing her house.

Laura's mansion stood on its own on a little hill, surrounded by exquisite iron gate. Polished, dove-grey stone path lead to a gurgling water fountain in the center of the house. Under the fountain, delicate pink flower buds sway away from the mist sprayed by the fountain. There are shamrock-green grass everywhere; white, yellow and purple flowers encrusted on some parts.

However, even the lush garden cannot overpower the majestic mansion. The walls of the mansion are painted Navajo white, they are decorated by crawling vines of purple ivy and the bottom lined with cute Syzygium shrubs. On the roof, rich burgundy tiles sparkled and reflect sun rays.

The mansion have one grand mahogang door, and 13 colourfully-stained glass windows. Intricate designs adorned the window frame. Each of the window seems to conceal a secret kept in the room of the mansion. A skinny, lonesome tree stood in the corner of the big house.

With the constant smell of freshly cut grass, and chattering of unknown birds, Laura's mansion definitely provide visitors with the tranquility they need.

The book Jasmine and I chose is A Dangerous Sky. We are describing the plane Francesca rode up in the sky.

The morning sky is mostly cloud.
Everything is muted shade, like a matt photograph in a dimly lit room,
everything except the tail lights that flow into the heart of the city.

Wilbert | 26 comments A book I chose with Reynaldi is "The Fly" a setting that we chose is a telephone booth. In this story Andre, a scientist was trying to invent a teleporter to teleport objects from a phone booth to another phone booth instantly. He managed to teleport a tray to the other booth but the writing "Made In Japan" was scribbled up. He placed his cat in the booth and teleported it into space by accident. Day and night Andre tested the booth to improve it until one day the hard work paid off. He placed a champagne bottle in the booth and successfully teleported the bottle in its mint condition. The next day, Andre wanted to test human life forms. So he volunteered himself and went into the telephone booth and managed to teleported himself. However the experiment didn't go as smooth as expected as Some of Andre's body parts was swapped with a fly including his face was swapped. This happened when a fly wandered around the booth when Andre was teleporting himself.Andre killed himself as he did not want anyone to see him in this condition. The phone booth was never continued then.

Wienda Nurhanie | 17 comments The book Emeren and I chose is Ghost Knight, about a boy named Jon who attended an old school located in Salisbury. The school is located near a crumbling cathedral. Jon often walk around the school and nearby woods.
Metres behond the church, rows of tombstones stood erect in silence. They were wethered in centuries. Gnarled trees hung low, branches scratching anyone brave enough to venture the graveyard.
All of the view can be seen by Jon everyday, from his school's heavily cracked and stained glass window. After all, Salisburywas always known as a haunted city. It was no wonder his school is a typical medieval tower, mysterious old ones with heavy oak doors and a cross on the roof.
Even the paths around it seem scary, with dried fallen leaves and twigs cracking beneath student's feet, continuously breaking beneath eerie silence.
Just like everyone else, Jon wished he would never set foot in this spooky place in the first place.

Alin Kinan (caratskk982) | 12 comments The secret garden that Florence Aldermann used to loved.
Like other garden mansions, the garden was full of menacing rose bushes. Plants are always healthy and the place brings the extra-ordinary aura. This place can bring relaxation and reduce your stress. Not only roses, other exquisite flowers are well-taken care of. Red, white, purple, yellow flowers are pleasant to see. Small palm trees give more relaxing aura that makes people wants to stay in the garden longer. The roof was made by strong wood & transparent glass that is arranged orderly and allows a bunch sunlight to pass through. Illuminating lights is added to the luxury garden, which brightens up the atmosphere at hours of darkness. In the middle of the estate, lays a bronze-coated flamingo statue. The chunky ash grey walls are carved in a cylindrical shape. The center of the garden where Florence taught Patrick how to cut the wilting roses, doesn’t look creepy at all, just some blood splatters here and there. Words just cannot describe how wonderful the rose garden is , if you love flowers you would be overwhelmed by this garden. Back behind the millions of plants, lays a couch for two people, very ideal for a date.
To sum it all up, this garden is really exquisite and one of a kind. You may not find it everywhere.

The book me and ian choose is vanity fair. This book is a nice book.
The setting so far as physical place is concerned, moves from London to Brighton,to the Continent including Paris,Rome,Brussels, and "Pumpernickel",a small German principality. The writer moves from house to country estate, from private academy to the sponging house or debtors jail.

The book, then, has not only a setting as to place but also, and more important ,as to position and power. It emerges a social document, accurate in terms of history sociology and psychology

Fido | 23 comments In a place far away in the middle of the country. There is a farm which is messy, unmanaged and extremely dirty. Only a few animals could live there and even if they could, they still quarrel everyday. The farm is the opposite to most of England grassland which are usually lush and green. Sunlight are blocked by the huge hills surrounding the farm, blocking the view of the beautiful place. This is just a place where animals could not enjoy it as much as they are suppose to enjoy England.

Elita Talia (ElitaTalia) | 8 comments The book I and Silvia chose is The Girl who Could Fly. The setting is a cliff in the end of the story.

Everywhere are sandy brown, even the sky is crimson red. Piper saw jagged rocks below her, seem to reach out for her. The weather around the cliff is constantly windy, with coldness stabbing her back. Dusts choked her everywhere she breathed, stone crumbled at each step she took. No grass can grow within the cracked soil. The wind blew the dust everywhere.

Jason29 | 16 comments Percy Jackson, The Tutan's curse.

The scene we have chosen is manhattan, There are towering skyscrapers soaring in the sky. Each individual building is different in design, and all of them gleamed in the setting, yellow ball of hydrogen. However those giant skyscrapers are so tightly packed that even an ant couldn't possible fit in between. Even still, the metal trees are perfect for jumping across them, considering that they are branched together. Also the two rivers bordering the area of skyscrapers are shimmering from the sun's glowing light. Moreover, the Empire State building towers above all of the other skyscrapers, which also marks the center of Manhattan. Since this Manhattan is from Percy Jackson book, one should expect gargoyle on top of certain buildings to come alive. In the distance, we can see other parts of New York that are not as crowded as Manhattan. This marvelous city has some hidden buildings that can only be seen by the eyes of Gods, and that apparently is the only difference between the real Manhattan and this one.

Ian | 23 comments the book that I chose with Winston is 'death in the dojo'. The starting point of the story is inside of the zhanshin dojo. The training yard has a large carpet for us to practice on. It is full of bright colour say to inspire us. There are extra spaces for other people to spectate. In front of the yard there are two pictures, the senses and the best student l. Between them lay a table with candles on top. Just right beside on the colorful pictures were bright yellow walls. Behind them were squrae-tiled Windows. Beautiful pushes of green leaves on the stundy trunk. There were patches of even grass and could see the shadows of the trees lurking on the organized leaves. There were also beautiful pink-colored Sakura flowers.

Wilbert | 26 comments This is the new one.. Ignore the previous post.
The setting Reynaldi and I chose is the laboratory where Andreas a scientist works all day and night to invent something.
The lab was a big room full of weird looking inventions. The lab was coloured black and had very very dark grey floor tilings. It was rather hot as no air-conditioning was installed nor a window opened as it was an underground laboratory. Lights often flickers since too much electricity was used for testing some of his new inventions. There was a humongous dusty old bookshelf that was seldom cleaned and his own personal desk located in his office in his laboratory. His office was dark as there was only one table lamp located on his desk. The door entrance had a sign which says "Do Not Disturb, Work In Progress".
