Maybe because everybody started demanding one as soon as the Harry Potter one ended?
Frida wrote: "The year TT is LotR I’m gonna create several dummy accounts on Goodreads just so I can be in ALL the teams. (If you see 6 “people” reading the exact same books then you know…. Just ignore it….)"
Oh
My
God
I am so glad I am jus a lowly player now, because that will certainly cause a "So, I've been thinking..." moment. Or several.

I think Karen means Subject Matter Expert

Ah, ok... I am not an expert on LOTR, BUT, I am a troublemaker extraordinaire... that is also playing Hogwarts Legacy... do you know that is has a quest that is different according to the player's house? And that it has a trophy were you need to do stuff from each of the houses to achieve it?
You letting it sit there in sequence of Frida's comment..
Oh, and that LOTR doesn't have houses but it has races... and that .. I don't know.. may be nice to have some strategic/team collaboration in place...
*whistles*
So someone who has read the LotR a few times, watched the movies, read the Silmarillion and other books about the legends and history of Middle Earth and such? No, don't know anyone like that at all... *cough*

cant think of anyone like that either. someone who has had the entire i sit beside the fire and think poem memorized by heart since the age of 12? no such people in my vicinity
my proudest accomplishment in life is when i made my friend watch the trilogy and i didnt scream DID YOU KNOW VIGGO ACTUALLY BROKE HIS TOE
As someone who didn't grow up abbreviating absolutely everything, I am still stuck on the fact that people immediately knew what SME stands for.I started to make a LOTR list in my head-
Shadowfax Mane Envy
Saruman Mulches Egg-sacs
Samwise Most Entertaining
Shelob's Maze Everlasting-
I need coffee.
Frida wrote: "my proudest accomplishment in life is when i made my friend watch the trilogy and i didnt scream DID YOU KNOW VIGGO ACTUALLY BROKE HIS TOE"I may or may not have done a degree in Film studies because of the making-of documentaries on the dvds... :D

Have I mentioned lately how much I love how your brain works? :D

Me neither. Or anyone who has recently listened to
😉
You didn't miss any announcement.LOTR ideas pop out every now and then, generate a boost of ideas/enthusiastic thoughts and then get back to the simmering point...
There are not forgotten... just not put in action...
Ashley wrote: "What have I missed? Where are we getting these LOTR ideas?"it's not LotR, we're just trying to convince the powers that be that we need a LotR challenge. This happens more often than not when new challenges are due, lol.
@Jenny re SME, my first thought was Small or Medium Enterprise, being in public sector procurement and thus having to support the little companies where possible.
Sadly, also due to public sector love of TLAs, I rapidly moved on to subject matter expert.
Love some TLA action though!

LOL, Cat. "Small or Medium Enterprise" THAT was the first thing that occurred to me working for an EU Agency. 😅
Eldarwen wrote: "Jenny wrote: "Shadowfax Mane Envy"This is awesome. Can I be part of this group?"
Yes, of course.
@Cat. Asking for it. What the hell is a TLA?
Tribbles Love Aragorn. (mixing stories is totally allowed)
Treebeard Looks Askance.
Took's Last Apple.
Saar The Book owl wrote: "Did we had a Harry Potter - challenge yet? *Just dropping the ball, lalalala*"Yes. Tower Teams VI. It had Spells, Classes, a Tri-wizard trophy and quidditch.
I thought you played it, but memory is not longer what it used to be.
Oops, it's not only your memory, but mine too. Totally forgotten about that. All those challenges :)
LOL.Now imagine making teams for most of them. All names start to blur after a while. Yours stands out a little... but even so... with an average of 200 participants a challenge (Some tower teams had over 300) it's near impossible to keep track unless you cheat and check spreadsheets.
Btw, even if I did loved the process of team making and coming up with fun ideas of torture, I really enjoy the being surprised now and all new ideas floating around. And throwing food to the chipmunks once in a while without the headache that came with overactive imagination :o)
Eldarwen wrote: "Well the Chipmunks do miss you though, Sonia :-)"Awwww.
So that's why they came for a visit today!!! Call them back. I need to focus on stuff and they don't shut up with ideas.
But Sonia, when people think chipmunks, they think of you. Because E has managed to con them into believing she's sweet and innocent, so you get the blame instead ;)

You might be able to bribe her with this box set, it's a favorite of hers.

Judith wrote: "You might be able to bribe her with this box set, it's a favorite of hers."duly noted and much appreciated, ill wait for the perfect bribing opportunity for maximal personal gain!
seems like i may have missed the sarcasm in that comment, it feels like threaten is the verb to use rather than bribe?

I had no idea I would be creating so much conversation around SME!
Yes we use it for subject matter expert. SME can also be small medium enterprise but I’ve noticed people using SMB more - small medium business
