Jenny | 8050 comments Or, look into hiring a tall lovely man to follow you with an umbrella, in case of rain. I'm sure that is a vacation job option out there. Right?

I wonder if Henry Cavill is available.

He might be between gigs, who knows?

Not sure that I would want him behind me. Then I would be missing out on the view ; )

The plan is to release the teams at the start of May so they'll be open past 21st April.

He can walk beside me. Also, I think he's going to need to be with me 24/7, so I'll have to make sure I have a King bed. X)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments You know what is bugging me? It has been 6 days since the newsletter, and the mods have managed not to post everything about it. No rules, no sign-ups. It's like they actually manage to stick to the plan.

Crazy times, right?!

but this is also your times to feed the chipmunks: what would you want to see in a Greek Myth Muse themed challenge? what would keep you entertained?

message 1065: by Sonia (new)

Allowing epic poetry, considering the theme? 😆 😆 😆

message 1067: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments epic poetry?

EPIC?!

But now that you're going there... I think plays or scripts would be a cool one.

message 1068: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Well... I can always search for my Lusíadas copy - kinda like Homero's Iliad but telling the story of Portuguese Expansion by Sea. Maybe now that I don't have to study all the meanings behind the verses, I might enjoy it more. Although, I did like studying it. Same for the plays. It was the classic authors from the 70s generation (1870, not 1970) that I hated.

message 1069: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12854 comments The Odyssey is one of my all-time favourite books ;)

message 1070: by Sonia (new)

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Eni requested The Odyssey told to children from the library to read with the little one. It's text instead of verse, so, it can be used *giggles*

This mod having covid and unwell children to deal with definitely helps with not having all the info posted!

Speaking from twofold experience, Covid just sucks. :(

message 1074: by Melindam (last edited Apr 06, 2022 04:31AM) (new)

Melindam | 8289 comments Which just made me check whether there has been a Muse of medicine.

Apparently not (there has been a goddess of health, Hygieia), though there is a medication called "Muse" ... the next bit of info is for Backroom BOM users only!!

(view spoiler)

Which in turn leads me to petition Lexi and Sonia and Jenny to start searching their KUs for some (view spoiler) culturally inspiring Backroom BOM reads, right?

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments Sonia? Shouldn't be Jenny?

Ohhhh.. does that mean the Backroom BOM is going to be revived for Tower Teams. We have to get back to Dino Island Part III and find out what Hot Prof and his groupies are up to.. didn't we leave them on a cliffhanger?

Sonia (darktalynn) | 11599 comments So far, my KU search has returned only under 100 pages tales.

Yes, yes and yes!

and we can discover who the real gluttons for punishment are by seeing who puts themselves through a re-read before starting #3 :D

Jenny | 8050 comments Cat wrote: "Crazy times, right?!

- a labyrinth
- being able to read The Iliad, The Odyssey etc, even though they are poetry
- writing our own epic tale of team muse based heroics
- certainly a backroom BOM about a muse
- a group listen to Gaiman's The Sandman (at least one muse in that)
- a muse based quidditch tournament (teehee)

Off to look for appropriate muse erotica. What better thing to do in the morning?

message 1084: by Stacey (new)

Stacey | 897 comments Jenny, you always find the most interesting books. And here I was expecting you to consider the girls the muses for the hot prof so we could read Dino Island 3. (Thanks, Lisa, for remembering)

message 1085: by Sammy (new)

Sammy (sammystarbuck) | 12854 comments I'm almost certain Hot Prof referred to at least one of the girls as his muse at some point. Don't feel like checking them to find out though! 😆

of course your erotica search can be to include people that would be inspired by the Muses - a sex-crazed poet?

I think Jenny is likely better than me at this, but I do agree to take the blame for the hedgehog book. I personally am over the dino island books and find new authors/stories more fun. I think there is likely all sort of Greek myth options out there.
