Ditto on missing HP. Maybe one day the mods will consent to a replay, lol.

Think of it like a Quidditch game. For the Quaffle, read a book that has a Top Hat or a Shoe (etc.) in it, or on the cover to determine the piece you will use to play the game, or to determine teams. The roll of the dice determines how many books your team needs to read in order to get to the property. Then, the team that owns that property sets a challenge for you to complete in order to "Buy" that property, or pay a penalty for landing there.
Or something.

I've said that I'll sort it if you can rustle up enough players for two teams (i.e. 20 people)
At which point everyone shuts up again!

Let's see...Just off the top of my head, I know the majority of the Gryffindor team will play, there are the people here who are interested, I imagine there will be others as well. Any Slytherins in the house?
Hufflepuff? Ravenclaw?
Chava, want to work on figuring out how a Monopoly game could work with me? (Or anyone else?)
For each quidditch team you'll need minimum 7, realistically 10, willing to read like insane creatures for a weekend ('cos I've not worked out a way to slow the game down to sensible speeds)
for monopoly, it's sounding more like a small team game with high mod intervention. If you can work out how to make it less mod intensive and/or work with big teams we'll put it in our ideas bucket :)

I would definitely play Quidditch again!
I shall stay away from this thread till all talk about HP themed challenge ceases. That way lay dragons. Way too dangerous....

The monopoly idea sounds awesome. I also like that it sounds like a "read so many books" rather than "so many pages" deal, because I've just about run out of door stops! lol.
we'd need to work out a way around the "turn based" aspect of it, but I'm sure it could be done, while inducing minimal wrath in camp mod ;)
Chava wrote: "HP TT was freaking amazing!! I played quidditch!!"We were an awesome team, reading around the clock. I fell asleep reading so many times..LOL!

Because I will have to beg you not to throw a dare like that my way, pretty please?
I was about to come back and say that Sonia input into plotting was deprecated!
Steer clear, Son! :)

*realizes what she is doing*
*slowly steps away from computer*
I was so sad to miss the HP TT, I've heard so much about it and it seems like it was a ton of fun. I started doing challenges right around that one's time and was way too intimidated to start with a TT. I believe the WAT immediately after the HP TT was my first challenge in this group.
Dragon yawning,,,dragon looking around for coffee...dragon seeing gold encrusted board games amongst the treasure...dragon looking around for yummy readers to chew on...dragon, not seeing any yet, turns over, falls asleep, and dreams of the next time she opens her eyes...
Cat wrote: "yep! go play with your cats, Sonia! much safer for everyone! :)"Don't tell me you big bad mods are scared of tiny me?

Megan wrote: "Aw I got excited seeing a notification for this thread!"Me too! hahaha and as Mary C said, I've been checking for new team challenges too
Melanie wrote: "I was so sad to miss the HP TT, I've heard so much about it and it seems like it was a ton of fun. I started doing challenges right around that one's time and was way too intimidated to start with ..."It was my favorite TT ever. The mods really outdid themselves on that one.

Sonia, everyone is scared of you. you have a truly diabolical mind when it comes to challenges :D

Worry not... I'm staying away... I have been tutoring a co-worker after work for the past month... helping preparing him for >23 college access exam... today is the exam day, so I'm finally having a break after 6... I am not throwing it away.I have a date with a colouring book and audio Kate Daniels scheduled for more than a week.

All too vividly, I'm afraid...
So I need 20 people for Quidditch to work or a very dedicated 12 (I assume we are leaving the snitch out this time) - 3 chasers, 1 keeper and 2 beaters. Shorten time period to 48 hours. I'm pretty sure I have half of the volunteers already. I think we could do this. (I also know of at least one person not on this thread who would be in)
Me too!!(Except everyone else might worry that my tendency toward rigid rule-following will slow the team down.
Wait... does that mean I am, in fact, a spelled broomstick? Or am I just Hermione?)
Donna wrote: "I "DARE" the mods to start a game of Quidditch. You set it up, we will get the players."Oh, yes we will. My guess is that there will be many teams wanting to play. Perhaps a seeded tournament, one weekend per month until there is a winner?
One weekend a month sounds like a good plan (except for the fact that I read more during the week, can't win 'em all, lol).
Sammy wrote: "One weekend a month sounds like a good plan (except for the fact that I read more during the week, can't win 'em all, lol)."Well, for a lot of us, the distinction between weekends and weekdays has become meaningless these days. So there is that, hah.

Very true. Hubby is going back out on-site from tomorrow, so I'll be getting at least some peace back...
"Some" being relative when there's still a 17-y-o metal guitarist hanging around the place :D

Dangerous assumption to make Lexi!
The snitch is in play still! You'd need a seeker! (wouldn't be quidditch otherwise! ;-P

Me three!!!
Just so you know... I just sent the mods a tiny wee challenge that my crazy brain demanded I put on paper.I hope you are all happy.
I was supposed to be on a break!!!!!!
Well... it appears I am losing my touch and one of the requirements it's impossible to do.Guess it's a sign I need to stay put a little longer
LOL
I'm always up for a good team challenge. I heard quidditch could be in the works possibly. Count me in. :)
