May book!! The Argonauts, by Maggie Nelson

''Maybe it will change the way we think and speak about others and ourselves?'' I always want to be a better version of myself, every day, even when I fail at it. I started reading more and diverse, got more spiritual and more gentle and attentive to myself, the written word has a great impact as well. Any book has the power of change within itself but depends on us, on how we perceive it, are our minds open? If they are open, then we'll be changed when we finish reading.
I'm from Romania, Greetings Emma! xo
Sadly they don't have the book in my library and I don't have enough money to buy it... I guess I'll wait until discussions started in this group and then decide whether it is worth saving money for :)
Exciting!! Thank you - can't wait to get stuck into it!

Jo, look out for posts from people who are finished reading and willing to send you their copy. I saw a lot of these last month as this group wants to share and read together as much as possible. Members are willing to share their books freely. Good luck and I hope you get a chance to read the newest book!

It sounds really good, will definitely start reading it ASAP!

I'm excited for this book and the books to come!

I've been searching high and low for our next book. The club has been much more international than I had anticipated - and much bigger. I'm really proud of my club members - discussion-w..."
You've always done me proud (I can't speak for everyone else) and I can't wait to read this book!! It's going to be so illuminating to read about gender fluidity and I can't say I know of many books that explore such a subject. There need to be more - it's important! I can't wait to see what kind of transformation this book has in store for myself personally. My birthday is on May 6th and this is one of the best gifts ever!! Thanks, Em Wats.
Love always,
Ro Ro Xx
Good girl! Now you proved you're an intersectional feminist! But hey don't be too proud, you still have a long road to go if you want to be a saint like us.

So, Playster (tour.playster.com) describes itself as 'The Netflix of books' and I'm not sure which countries it's available in, but they offer a one month free membership trial and "The Argonauts" should be on the site.
I'm a bit busy with uni work, so I haven't started mine and therefore haven't tested it myself. Hope it works!

First things first, (I know you used this term in an earlier anouncement, and I have to say I love it) you always did me proud. But with this book, I can't find the right words( as we German-speaking people like to say), to say thank you. You did great.
I'm sorry to say but I didn't find a German translation!
A friend of mine showed me a graphic long ago, and since, I can't think of genders in the same way anymore. There are not only two, it is not only a spectrum(thanks for broadening the term gender to that extent, Em Wats), it is at least growing into three, maybe even four directions.
I have to say, you did wonderful book choices, I wil start reading "How To Be A Woman" today. Every book has taught me something, some things totally new, others amplifying my thoughts and actions.
I will order it tomorrow, in English of course, 'cause I really like to read the original language, and I am REALLY REALLY looking forward to reading this treasure.
Yours,
MeerderWörter/SeaofWords
P.S.: You really are intersectional now, congratulations! If you further want to work on the syllable inter, I really recommend you to immerse yourself in intersex topics, which I think are very INTERsectional:)

Hey Anabella, on my Amazon (US) I see it offered for the Kindle. I know that you can also get it as an audiobook from Audible. Barnes & Noble also sells a nook book that you could read on a smart phone. Also, not familiar with the company, but Ebooks.com seems to have a copy available -- though this might be restricted by country. Hope it's available where you're living :)

Well, what to say, we can absolutely say this required a bit of researching, so thank You for the time spent on finding it! I am sure it is going to be an interesting reading, I really can't wait to read it!!!
Aaaand about that "I hope I did you proud..."
No need to ask Miss! I am sure You know the answer!!!
Time is a precious thing, and if You gift us with yours, one can only appreciate.
Thank You, Thank You!! XX

Oh wow, this is a first! I get Kindle books from the US store, because the other ones point to that one, yet for me it says the book is available only as hardcover, paperback and mp3. Like I mentioned in my previous comment, it's not available as ebook, but hopefully they'll release the Kindle for non-US customers, too.

I bought it as a Kindle download from Amazon Australia (Amazon.com.au)

Thanks so much for the tip! It looked great, saw the price correctly, until I logged in. Then it said
"Kindle titles are available for US customers on Amazon.com."
Yet on dot com it says not available. If they don't want my money...
I've been searching high and low for our next book. The club has been much more international than I had anticipated - and much bigger. I'm really proud of my club members - discussion-wise - you are all hitting it out of the park. I'm having to find books that are accessible, cover multiple perspectives and languages, that are unique and not too well known already... So without further ado...
Our next book is going to be The Argonauts, by Maggie Nelson. The story is about the author’s relationship with artist Harry Dodge, who is fluidly gendered. It's about their romance, the birth of their son, the death of Harry’s mother and their changing bodies, as Maggie becomes pregnant and Harry undergoes surgery, but it’s also about inclusion and the powers and shortfalls of language. It might require a bit of work but The Argonauts rewards us with an expansive way of considering identity, caretaking, and freedom—along with a liberation from, what Maggie calls, “the demand that anyone live a life that’s all one thing.” I am excited to read this book with you. Maybe it will change the way we think and speak about others and ourselves?
Hope I did you proud,
Em Wats X
