Who here thinks Macbeth was misguided or just plain evil with a driving ambition?

I have alot to say about this and I´m most interested in the difference between the thespians opinion and the reader´s opinions.

I have a theory about this folks.

John

He had in him a lot of ambition and greed, so he was already a bad guy. He just hadn't actually DONE anything bad yet. Lady Macbeth was the one who helped bring in out of him and transform him into that driving evil. I think he was a bad person who became evil through misguided means, even though he was truly evil and not some poor pitiful guy.

Ruby He really wanted power- he killed his good friend for it because he thought he'd be king, but I'm thinking it was more out of ambition and greed than ...more

I think he was blinded by many things, like ambition and also as you said "trying to save the kingdom", he's just your typical soldier who follows the rules without questioning anything. Besides, he's not a man of principles at all, so it wasn't hard for Lady Macbeth to lead him to whatever she wanted to do.
