Alas, I've encountered some critical errors on my author site that basically forced me to tear the whole thing down and rebuild it from scratch. Thankfully, putting together over 50 websites throughout my career has turned me into the Speedy Gonzales of web design :-)Show of hands, How many authors build their own websites and who outsources to a 3rd party? I had to learn WordPress myself when starting my first business about 10 years ago and am thankful I did.
I built my own using Wordpress and the Hestia theme, but I'm a professional software developer with a lot of web development experience. That said, WP and Hestia are fairly easy to learn. I also have my own domain name and a paid hosting account.
