Is there an easy way I can update my links? I've got at least one dead one. I looked for a copy and paste, or link update option...
That's a generic link - it takes me to my own author page.It won't work for Patti as she doesn't have one.
Actually, try this - https://www.goodreads.com/book_link/c...I don't think you can change them on an actual book-by-book basis as such.
Actually, I think you just need to make sure that your books have the correct ISBN and ASIN information filled in.
they did - in fact most do. I suspect the issue is because I've released an updated edition of a book so in effect amazon treats it as a new book i.e. with a new ASIN. When I go to the edit book details bit on my author page and type in the new ASIN, it sees it as an error so won't let me alter it. I might end up having to delete the book with the dodgy link and start from scratch.
Think I've sorted it but good grief it's a clunky system. Went into edit book details and tinkered with the combine/separate options. Still haven't stumbled across an option to delete though I'm sure it's in there somewhere. I hotly anticipate a flurry of sales!
Only one of mine (Treespeaker) has a link at all and that goes to Amazon US. I can't work out where to add a link. They all seem to have the same details put in as Treespeaker, but it has a link and the others don't. :(
All my books that are still available seem to have a working Amazon UK link. Thank goodness, it sounds like a fair bit of admin to sort it out. Thanks for the heads up!
Some links may not work because the books have been unpublished and GR doesn't/won't delete books that no longer exist, as it were.I'm unpublishing a few of my older books - the collections of funny* blog posts from yesteryear and so on - so the GR links for those will no longer lead anywhere, which I do find somewhat irritating.
*For certain values of funny.
Only one of mine is unpublished, so why are there no links? Is there a way I can fix it?I shouldn't be surprised. For years I'd had books that I'd illustrated in 'my' books, then they vanished. Months later they reappeared. Goodreads seems to have a mind of its own.
Patti (baconater) wrote: "Goes to show how important it is to include Amazon.uk links in your promo posts, eh?"Amen - and thanks for the reminder; I'm going to put a link to every country directly, or go figure out how to use the universal links I keep bookmarking.
*Leans forward and peers at the tiny print at the bottom of the page*...Ooooooh, yes, so there is!
Thanks, Patti. :)

It's a good idea to check the links on your book pages and contact goodreads admin if they're broken.
I'd hate for anyone to lose sales because of a broken link.
