Fuzzily Wuzzily | 5 comments It starts out with a warrior guarding a convoy. A big scary creature attacks (ogre or demon, don't really remember what exactly) and kills everyone or nearly everyone and cuts off the warrior's arm in the process. As a one armed warrior who failed to protect the convoy, nobody wants to hire him so he spends his days drunk and depressed. He bumps into a female thief who originally robs him, but is ironically caught by guards after she takes pity on him and tries to return his money without being noticed. He defends her, then she hires him as a body guard and they go on all kinds of adventures and quests together. At one point assassins get sent after the thief and the warrior stops them. (I think I'm remembering this next part right) He discovers that the person who hired him to protect the convoy is the same person who hired the big scary creature to attack it. Eventually he gets a magical mechanical arm and he has to face that same ogre/demon that attacked the convoy again.

Fuzzily Wuzzily | 5 comments oh, I forgot to add this book is not a relatively new one, I read it 8-12 years ago.

Standalone or series? Author male or female? Remember the cover? Adult or YA?

message 4: by Fuzzily (new)

Fuzzily Wuzzily | 5 comments I don't really remember. I think it was a trilogy, but I'm not positive; it could be a single book. No idea on anything about the author, cover, or character names. I'm not sure its official category, but from what I remember I would place it into YA.

Temple Hill by Drew Karpyshyn seems to match your description.
