Jen | 1545 comments I have to thank everyone who gave me info on the readathon especially JudithAnn for bringing it to my attention.

I actually tried to participate and had fun although I didn't fully participate because it was impossible for me to shut out all other commitments. But I was able to read most the night and a few hours early in the morning.

I finished House of Leaves plus half an other book so read about 660 pages. But all the extras mini challenges, conversation, and social media interaction was a lot of fun and made it interesting.

Oh, I totally understand your preference for a limited time span. Plus, 24 hours would work much better for a reading party, too.

Jennifer Pope (jenjunum) | 902 comments Yikes Amy! You have lucky friends and family. We had one seder, made by me, with just our family. Honestly I kind of prefer it that way when my kids are small unless there are other small kids. We can speed up the non-eating part. I have a brisket recipe I love for the crockpot, charoset, and roasted potatoes. We keep it simple!

JudithAnn | 44 comments Fatty O'Leary's Dinner Party by Alexander McCall Smith Glad you had a great time Jen and Jenni! I lasted 17 hours (well, I slept for about 7 hours in between). I had most fun with Fatty O'Leary's Dinner Party by Alexander McCall Smith (from the Ladies' Detective Agency). Only 174 pages, and highly entertaining.

The next readaton is October 22nd!
