(view spoiler)[ I am happy for Hale but I was kinda rooting for him so it is a shock to know he likes Ean but I hope they don't get caught. Ironic how Eadlyn is choosing to keep this secret like Maxon.

I don't know what to say with Eadlyn and Erik, he is really nice but I don't ship them.
I don't like Marid, I don't have a good reason but he seems so eager to help Eadlyn and maybe he is just really nice but it is weird.
Fox isn't really mentioned much in the book so I don't think he has a chance.
Henri is so sweet but it would be very difficult to be King and not speak english.
So, I have to root for Kile although it seems kinda forced because they didn't really like each others until the selection pulled them together and the relationship reminds me of Clueless.

I honestly like Eadlyn a lot more than I did she really has changed because of the selection and I am glad others are starting to respect and like her more too.

Once Hale and Ean leave there is only going to be 2 3 people left. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I knew something was off about Mrid but I didn't think his intentions would be bad. I don't like the guy and I hope Eadlyn will succeed.

I am glad this book finally has some romance! Eadlyn is now Queen and sadly, she has to sacrifice her love life. But I think something will happen and she ends up with Erik. If that does happen, I feel sorry for Kile and Henri because they both really like her. I don't like Josie but it was sweet that she was concerned about her brother.

Also, it was really sweet when Henri said Eadlyn looked beautiful because I am sure he spent hours learning that. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Josie has changed but this was very sudden. I feel it is way too late for character change but at least she is trying.

I feel sorry for Fox, he confessed he liked her and then gets eliminated. I don't know why he loves her because he barely knows her but poor guy.

I don't like Marid, but we now know that they wouldn't mind Eadlyn marrying a man outside of the selection. Although they meant Marid would they be okay with Erik instead? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I am happy that Eadlyn got her happy ending with Erik. I knew they would somehow end together. I loved Henri's attitude towards Eadlyn and Erik because I would hate it if it had hurt his feelings. I hope he does make their wedding cake, that would be so cute.

The ending when Maxon tells Eadlyn about his father hitting him and that Lady Brice is her aunt. Then, the rushed announcement of her engagement and her plans for a constitutional monarchy. This all felt rushed and I would like to know what has happened maybe a few years after or on their wedding day.

I like the way that this series ended and I preferred this book over The Heir but in my opinion, but it isn't as good as the first 3 books. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ I felt ending was rushed up. We hardly get to see Eadlyn and Erik together as a couple. The whole plot was waving around political problems move than selection and it's also rushed up so quickly.
Maxon's father was never a good person but seriously he intentionally got his wife drunk was so bad.
We should have at least gotten a proper epilogue. (hide spoiler)]
