Finished Chapter 3 (view spoiler)[ I think it was an interesting and characteristic decision on Eadlyn's part to widdle the suitors down to 6 Elite, yes for all the reasons she mentioned but also because she's not used to being vulnerable, so she won't have 15 guys that could possibly break her heart. I can't decide who my favorite is. Well, I don't like Ean. And I don't remember Gunner.

I also thought the meeting scene was good. I want to say Lady Brice was one of the first few selected to go in America's story? I can't remember but I know she played a small role.
It'll be interesting to see how she works with Illea's son. The story feels weighted yet hopeful. Off to a good start. (hide spoiler)]

Finished Chapter 10 (view spoiler)[ Ok Gunner leaving makes sense. Total flashblack to princess diaries 2 the movie where Mia and Andrew share a kiss with no chemistry.
It was so cool to see the suitors praise Eadlyn; definitely gives more hope! And I'm liking Lady Brice more.
I'm worried about how that conflict with Josie will turn out. I feel like it's the start of something not so good.
It was fun meeting Grandma Singer in this story!
I'm not sure what to make of Henri and Erik... I wish there wasn't a language barrier but I think it's cool that the author is adding something different.
Kile is definitely my favorite but if she ended up with one of the others it would be okay. I think that's how Cass wants you to feel. (hide spoiler)]

Eadlyn is going to ascend! I guess my thought is she'll get burnt out early like her dad but for now she's young and can handle it, plus, it's just a story, lol.

I think it's good that right at the beginning of the book, Eadlyn decided to keep just 6 guys in her Elite (IMO it could have been even less, but 6 is a good number), it looks like she's taking it seriously and wants to change for the better. Heaven knows she should, because she's still telling herself that silly 'I am the most powerful person' motto.
Looking forward to knowing who is going to be kicked next, my bets are on Gunner or Fox. (hide spoiler)]

Hale's confession fell like a bomb!!! I didn't expect that, but I guess it makes it easier for Eadlyn to pick a guy now, I don't think her feelings for Fox are that strong, and Henri looks like a friend rather than a potential boyfriend/husband...

(view spoiler)[OMG!!!! I'm sooo so happy that Eadlyn chose what her heart told her, for a minute there I thought she might not be able to, but her father came to the rescue. The final speech was kinda odd in my opinion, too many different things were addressed, but I guess things had to speed up at the end of, not only the book, but the whole series. I liked the fact that she made that political advance, it was something that bugged me from the first book and am glad to see that she's not a despot.
The epilogue caught me off guard, it was kinda weird... I was expecting some kind of flash forward to Eadlyn and Erik's life together but well, guess I'll have to read the novellas to see if there's something like that :) (hide spoiler)]

And Lady Brice is Daphne's son. Remember her, from Maxon's childhood? She was in love with him but he didn't love her back. And now I suppose he's just recognising Daphne by keeping Brice? I mean, I love Brice, don't get me wrong :p (hide spoiler)]
