Thanks. I think I'll have Barbara choose another. So many good cozies out there, especially so many that I didn't know existed, that I shan't waste time on those that I don't enjoy.

Hi Barbara,
I read the first one of the series and found that I really didn't like it (not your fault, of course, and the good thing is that I can stop listing it in my reader's challenges). I asked Nell what options I had, and she indicated that (among others) I could ask you to choose another series for me. If it wouldn't be too much trouble, would you mind choosing another series for me? If not, I will simply choose to not finish this challenge for which there is no penalty anyway. Thanks so much -- Jeanne

Hi, Jeanne,

So sorry you didn't like the series. I've started a book and then found out I didn't like it before. I am even keeping a list of "discarded series" so I don't get sucked into trying another book.

I'm glad that you found out so quickly, so you could try a different series. Since I don't know anything about the rest of them either, I now choose the "Nero Wolf" series. It looks interesting (especially the book about the ballgame), and hopefully the new author will live up to his predecessor.

Hope you like this one better!

According to my list, two members DO NOT have a series picked for them yet:

Jill G
Anna Catharina

I will send a reminder message to your partners.

If your name should be on the list and isn't, let me know.

Jeanne (oldemill) | 204 comments I have finished both of my May books and enjoyed them. They were both by Robert Goldsborough who has taken up the baton from Rex Stout. I read "Archie in the Crosshairs" and "Murder at the Ball Park".

Finished my picks for May and really hope there will be more in this series!

Helen Brower (hebrower) | 29 comments I enjoyed "Archie in the Crosshairs." I think Goldsborough does a good take on Rex Stout. I think I'll give "Murder at the Ball Park" a shot. Thanks for the recommendation.

I hope it is ok to jump into the discussion even though I'm not involved in this challenge. I just finished Archie in the Crosshairs yesterday. I have read all but 2 of the Goldsborough Nero Wolfe books, "Murder at the Ball Park" and "Stop the Presses". I really have enjoyed them.

Anna Catharina I'm a little bit behind my schedule, today I finished my first book. First I had some problems and no motivation to go onto, but after the half, I really love it. At the end, it was so thrilling!

message 70: by Lori (new)

Lori | 75 comments Just finished my two May books today. Got a late start due to my school schedule but thankfully will be on summer vacation soon and can do all the reading I want to.
A Cookbook Conspiracy (A Bibliophile Mystery, #7) by Kate Carlisle
The Book Stops Here (A Bibliophile Mystery, #8) by Kate Carlisle

Tracie | 31 comments So excited started book #2 for May reading

Kay (Brigidsmomma) Compton (brigidsmomma) | 122 comments I have finished 2 of the 3 books for my May Challenge so far. It took me a while to get started on this month's reads, but once I got into them,, they are really good. The Hummingbird Wizard (The Annie Szabo Mystery Series, #1) by Meredith Blevins The Vanished Priestess (The Annie Szabo Mystery Series, #2) by Meredith Blevins .

Still hope to finish The Red Hot Empress (Annie Szabo #3) by Meredith Blevins by the end of the month...

They are REALLY GOOD. I finished the last in the series (so far) the other day, so I am all caught up for May. The first one starts a bit slow, but is so worth it once you really get into it, and the other two just keep getting better!

message 78: by Connie N. (new)

Connie N. | 499 comments Don't know what took me so long to get started on this month's books. Finished the first one today:

An Ice Cold Grave by Charlaine Harris - 7/19/16 ♥♥♥♥

Excellent 4.5 star read!

message 79: by Marisa (new)

Marisa (moretta) | 421 comments It took a lot of time (I don't know, sometimes a book is not right for the mood you are), but I've read the second one in the challenge A Candidate For Murder and I've really enjoyed it, so I've got the third one for my TBR. Thank you for choosing this series, although I've taken a lot of time for finishing it.
