Mostly with a book of Abbi Glines, but in general I would say a good contemporary.

My reading slump occurred because of a surgery I had a few years ago. During my surgery, they nicked an artery and for months I couldn't read anything. I even had a hard time reading small children's books, which was frustrating because I work in child care. Over a year and a half after the surgery, I found "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern and, not only did I read it within a week, I read it 5 times within three months. I was so in love with the book. I still am.
Lady Midnight got me to speed through my previous book so I could get to reading it and boy was it a good one! I just finished my review up on my blog that you can get to here https://booksnestbookishopinions.word...
it's kind of surprising but Obsidian helped me to get out of a dark time in which I didn't even want to read at all :))
Divergent and Clockwork angel were good examples because I liked to read something that keeps me hooked! However, a fast paste standalone also seems to do the trick
I was definitely in a reading slump after ACOMAF. The book that got me out of it was The Isle of the Lost by Melissa de la Cruz. It's not long, it's about the kids of classic Disney villains, and it was just a fun humorous adventure story.
Well my reading slump is everlasting, but my current book that I am reading pulled me out of my last reading slump. The book is called Believarexic by J.J. Johnson
All Sarah J. Maas books, recently: ToG and ACOMAFLunar Chronicles, recently: Fairest
All Cassandra Clare boos, recently: Lady Midnight
For me it was Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge. It was fast paced and very well written, it left me on the edge of my seat and got me so excited. I was extremely attached to the characters especially the main female she was the most kick-butt female in any YA fantasy I have read so far.no joke.
Me Before You got me out of a reading slump for the three days it took me to read it - but then it put me back into one.
Throne of glass series, I've read really good stuff and I was afraid I woudn't find anything good anymore but I was definitely wrong!!
Harry Potter or Percy Jackson- they're so light and fun to read they always make me really excited to read again. Those are my favorite series too, so whatever your favorite books are should help (:
I was in a reading slump last year but Divergent got me out of it! And awhile back I was in a small reading slump and The Selection got me out of that. ;)
Nadi wrote: "I'm in a huge reading slump and i need suggestions to get me out of it- thank you!"Hey! Have you read the Lunar Chronicles? Maybe you'd like it. A court of Thorns and Roses brought me out of my reading sump, but I'm not sure if you're read it already. I saw that you liked a lot of classics, maybe it's time that you change into another genre that you feel more like reading? I was a lot into mystery for a while and now I'm all over fantasy. Try mixing your to-read list up :) Good luck !
ME BEFORE YOU <3 I was in a really long reading slump before reading this book. After watching the trailer, I couldn't resist picking it up!
after 2-3 years of reading slump....and countless time of trying to finish a book...... Throne of Glass series finally pulled me out of the reading slump...
This year it was Me Before You cause I always want to read the book before watching the movie and thenI got hooked to reading again and bought myself a Kindle and have been binge reading ever since. hahaha
About 2 weeks ago I finished a court of most and fury and I've been in a slump since. But then I decided to reread the mortal instruments and it was the only book to drag me out of my slump haha
