Good morning! I am trying to start a book club for our local DG Alum Group, and I was hoping we could get this group going again! Is anyone else out there interested?

Okay, ladies, I wasn't part of the prior book club and really have no idea how it was run. But my alum group picked a new book for our next book club (Tues., May 17th if anyone is in Florida and wants to join us). We picked Tori Hogan's Beyond Good Intentions: A Journey into the Realities of International Aid. The website is www.beyondgoodintentions.com, and there are links where you can purchase the book, as well as discussion questions. Do we usually give a month or so before we start discussing? I'm new to this! Also, and I don't mean to be a downer, I have e-mailed Ms. Hogan to confirm she was a Delta Gamma. I was going to select one of the books that was previously mentioned in this group for my alum group, but when I e-mailed the author, I was told she was not a Delta Gamma! I know these books are mentioned in our Anchora, so I'm not sure how that info is confirmed. So I'm trying to be a little careful about that in the future. Let me know your thoughts or if you are familiar with how this online forum is run. I'm so excited you ladies are out there and interested!!
I may be interested. I just want aa little more info. I've been in book groups for over twenty years but not online. Would be read Fiction or all genres? Thank you inviting me.
Hi Alina - I have never done an online book club either. I just found this one when I was looking for books written by Delta Gamma women. The books could be fiction, nonfiction, self-help, mystery, etc. Basically, I think the goal is to showcase Delta Gamma authors. So it really depends on what they're writing and what we choose that month. I'm not really sure how this online forum works with respect to a book club though, so I'm also looking for some guidance! Hope this helps! And welcome! I am excited to discuss these books with all of you!
In the previous incarnation of this group, we would have a book that was the book for that month and then questions posted about that book at beginning of the month (I think). Whenever you finished reading or wanted to comment, you could just comment and discuss online. I was only a participant, not an admin of it, so I'm not sure how they posted the original questions or anything.
I look forward to the group getting back up and running! Even if I can't read the book, I've always enjoyed reading the discussion
I would like to participate. My local alum group has a book club and we are currently reading All the Light We Cannot See.
