I agree after reading the book. At first I wasn't a fan of the new cover BUT both MC's are actually from a very different part of NY. I think it fit. Still not my favorite.

Well at first I would have agreed with you but after reading First & First apparently Caleb was very in love but just not the best at communicating his feelings. I think it was probably bad timing on both their parts. I also think David may have been too sweet for a lack of a better word. The dynamic was off. I think Caleb and David actually were attracted to a similar type of guy & neither of them is that type.

I ended up liking Caleb a lot after this book but I'll say & I said it last book David doesn't do himself any favors. There is a conversation between David and Caleb in this book & it rubs me the wrong way. I thought last book David tried to set it up for Caleb to be the back up option if things didn't work out with Ray. I still feel that way.

Nobody likes David (speaks for myself only). I was just telling my husband and I said it the last book, David & Ray are not forever. Ray loves David but David is flighty as fuck. In two years he'll be bored. He's still emotionally invested in trying to figured out why things didn't work with Caleb. He shouldn't care at this point in my opinion. Ugh...my dislike of David (a fictional kid) is unreal :)

Come on, David was a very good friend and he had problems with their relationship because he thought Ray didn´t feel the same and at last he would leave him, but they are in love now, and they´ll be together for ever and ever. En el primer libro, Raymond habla de haber visto a Michael y en el segundo, Raymond "pilla" a Michael y Nunzio en pleno apogeo (puse "pilla" entre comillas ya que es obvio que esa no era la primera vez que Raymond los vió juntos).

Yo supuse que Santino iba a dejar ese tipo de escenas de seudo-incesto en este libro ya que Caleb no tenia hermanos. Pero cuando Caleb se enteró de que Aiden es un swinger... Ay, yo me puse a cruzar dedos para que no pasara nada entre los dos. Por que NOPETUS. Esa no es mi onda. (hide spoiler)]

I wasn't too impressed with Caleb in Book 2 so imagine my surprise when I found myself cheering for him in this book! (Such is the power of Santino's writing, I guess. LOL!) Also, looking back, I can agree with your assessment that Caleb did loved David (but, unfortunately for him, he had trust issues--among other ones--to deal with).

FWIW, I liked David when he was with Raymond. On his own, David rubbed me the wrong way. Especially because (view spoiler)[he kept playing hot and cold with Caleb. The Skype conversation made me eyeroll David. I'm glad that Caleb cut him off from talking badly about Oli. (hide spoiler)]

FTR, I don't belong to the David is Great club (with our beloved Elsa as president of said club), but I do think that David and Raymond are in for the long run.

It's true that he's flaky and can get so obsessed with worry that he'll make a hole on the floor from running in circles. But there's something (aside from incredible sexual chemistry) that he has with Raymond that fulfills him.

Another thing that helps for the prospect of their longevity as a couple is that Raymond did a bit of growing up in Book 2 (to the point that he's working towards a career), David (for the most part) dealt with his issues with Caleb, and both Raymond's as well as David's families and friends like them.

At worst, Raymond and David have to remain together forever because David's a 100% more likable when he's with Raymond. #IJS #SorryElsa

At first, I tried to see things from David's perspective. It's been a while since he and Caleb have talked to each other (we can safely guess that the last time they saw each other was at the New Year's Eve party), Caleb wasn't the most passionate guy David's ever dated/being with, and Oli did come onto Raymond (though, very wisely, Oli points out that he did it before anyone said anything about feelings and whatnot. Also, how David tends to "forget" that point).

So, it does make sense that seeing Oli and Caleb hanging out and being flirty-friendly with each other must have thrown David for a loop.

HOWEVUH, I do think that he'd stepped way over the line when he was pressuring Caleb to spill the beans on why he's with Oli and whether or not he knows Oli's "history/reputation". It was a tacky move. Like, dude, you're with Raymond, you seriously don't need to be acting so pissy about what your ex is or isn't up to doing with another dude.
