I didn't really feel like I got to know any of the main characters in any depth and so I didn't notice them develop. My biggest problem was the style of writing, which didn't appeal to me at all and so I think it is unlikely I will read anything else by the author.

So what did you think? Was it all a rich man's game, arrangements made before his demise to draw Oedipa in? Or was it an ancient secret she was unearthing?
At least the title was explained at the end; I was wondering what it meant. Two stars from me, a rating I seldom give a book.
Who would have thought such a short book could feel so long.
There were passages that kept making me think, "I think I'm going to like this book from now on" but they were few and far between, although I did laugh at the part about the ex-post master asking for people to write to him if they'd committed suicide (which sounds totally wrong).

Things to consider:
1. Did you like the book?
2. Did you like or dislike the main characters?
3. Do the characters develop?
4. What did you think of the plot and the ending of the story?
5. Do you have any particular favourite quotes or scenes?
6. Would you read anything else by this author?
