Yay, finished my first book! I just need to change my start date before I post it, I planned to start it way earlier than I actually did :)

I do that a lot. I have to constantly remind myself to check the start date or I get dinged a lot. :/
I just put in my request for them at the library and I should hopefully have them by Monday or at latest Tuesday. :D
Great job, Victoria! That's awesome you found them at your library! Our libraries in South Carolina are almost all connected, so I usually have pretty good luck finding books there. New ones have to be in the county you're getting them from though, so that can limit new releases I have access to.

We have 5-6 libraries in the city I live in alone so I usually have a pretty good supply of books. I just don't like to use the library because I'm horrible at returning books on time. :/
I remember you saying that. My library emails me three days before books are due, so I usually do pretty well.
Courtney wrote: "I remember you saying that. My library emails me three days before books are due, so I usually do pretty well."My library doesn't have a system like that that I know of. I'd be nice if it did since I check my e-mail several times a day. :/
It's only been used here for a few years. But it's very helpful. My power is out and all of the books I'm reading are physical copies. :(

:(
Can you light a candle or use a flashlight?
Oooh do you have one of those book lights? ^-^
Courtney wrote: "I wish I did have a book light! I don't think I have any spare batteries. :("That's unfortunate. :(
Yeah. I'm tired anyway, so I'll probably just go to bed. I was at a Civil War reenactment today and now I want sleep. :) But still, I had some chapters I wanted to read.

I hope you had fun at the Civil War reenactment though and have a good sleep! :D
Yep, Jackie. A crazy storm. Loads of lightning and rain. Thanks, Bookbuyer! The reenactment was a lot of fun and very interesting. I prefer learning about the American Revolution and WWII, but it was still interesting and very educational.
Dawnie is kicking everyone's butts so far in the page count challenge. I'll have to read faster if I have any hope of catching up! :D
Jackie wrote: "Haha. Remember you can always use the highest page count."I do. But I've only read one book and Dawnie has read about 5 I think? I can't wait till that read a thon. I hope I can speed up my reading a bit then. :P
Courtney wrote: "I'm sure you will! It should be a lot of fun!"I think I'm going to plan to read as many of my 100 page novellas that weekend as possible so that I can really boost my reading goal and aim for the 12 book mark I need for another challenge. :D
Courtney wrote: "Very nice! I'm sure you can breeze through a bunch of those, as long as they're good."Yup. :)
I'm getting so excited for the read a thon and it's still almost two weeks way! :(
Courtney wrote: "If this one goes well we should start incorporating them more often. :)"That would be awesome! :D
I just had a really good reading weekend with lots of procrastination with reading instead of doing any work I should and wanted to do. So now I have to catch up,so the reading will slow down, bookbuyer ;)
Dawnie wrote: "I just had a really good reading weekend with lots of procrastination with reading instead of doing any work I should and wanted to do. So now I have to catch up,so the reading will slow down, book..."Looks like we will both be playing a lot of catch up this month then. :P
Well I hope you both get a lot of reading done as well as everything else. Balancing life and fun can be hard. But reading is a must. :)
I read a lot more today than I anticipated!Probably because my phone broke halfway through the day. Great for my reading habits, not so much for anything else.
I'm honestly not sure. It just keeps trying to power on, but can't seem to completely get there. 0.o It just keeps turning off.
Well I hope you're able to fix it ir get a new one. It can be hard without a phone, particularly if you use it for a lot of things.
This is what I am planning for the month:Spirited Away
Level One: Fantasy Object/Element/Creature
Spirited Away
Level Two: Fantasy Novel
Spirited Away
Level Three: A Book with Dragons
Titanic
Level Two: Romance
for A Beautiful Mind Level Two: Deals with Mental Disorder of Finding Nemo Level Two: Mystery Novel
for Finding Nemo Level One: Orange and White or Jaws Level One: Frightening/UnnervingDo all these work? Also does anyone want to buddy read any of these with me?
Most seem like they will work. Not sure if HP 6 has dragons...let me check. And Darkest minds doesn't have white, but it would work for the other one.
How is the reading going, everyone? I'm currently trying to finish up book five in the Wheel of Time. Also working on Out of the Easy and The Truth About Forever. Then I'll be getting into Red Rising.

I'm finishing up Blackbird and I'm close to half way through with Game of Thrones and 'Salem's Lot.
Very nice, Jamie! So you have a lot going on reading wise too. :) Hope you're enjoying! I tried Game of Thrones, but didn't enjoy it. :/

I thought I wasn't going to enjoy it and it was going to be another overrated book to me, but I'm starting to like it.
Blackbird is a different story. The beginning started out great but the plot kind of fell down and got boring.
I hate it when that happens! A book will have loads of potential and then just fall apart. It's really unfortunate.
Courtney wrote: "I hate it when that happens! A book will have loads of potential and then just fall apart. It's really unfortunate."It is. Right now I'm happy that it wasn't to the point of DNF. I have had way to many of those this year than I like.
I never even attempted to read Game of Thrones, because I know myself and I hate Grimdark fantasy. (I don't like it when anybody dies.)
Kylara wrote: "I never even attempted to read Game of Thrones, because I know myself and I hate Grimdark fantasy. (I don't like it when anybody dies.)"Then good call on not reading that series!
I want to pick that first book back up this month actually but haven't yet.
Which is strange, does anyone else has that? You are enjoying a book but once you put it down you always pick anything else up instead of that book?
