I think Hero has a lot to think about with respect to Sebastian; will she soften her attitude toward men and marriage? I'm not sure.Sebastian wants to do the right thing and has offered marriage, but would this be a good idea in the present circumstances, or would it be a cold, loveless affair?
They certainly know each other better after all they've endured in this story. Sebastian seems to be the only man who can stand up to Jarvis. I'm looking forward to the next book to see whether anything changes soon.
They are made for each but still have not realised it. I am guessing we will see more situations between them until they actually get together.
I enjoy their banter and burgeoning chemistry. I loved it when Sebastian offered to do the right thing after they were rescued and she told him not to be ridiculous. Lol! It really sets the tone for their relationship at this point.
I love their banter too. This is chemistry that I felt was sorely lacking in his other relationship. It really felt to me like these two did a lot of re-examining of their preconceptions of each other. Hero found out just how driven towards justice Sebastian is and how personally he feels things. She learned how honorable he is and that, despite his hatred for her father, she knows he would never get back at him by hurting her. We also learned that for all her attempts to remain aloof, she can find Sebastian quite amusing, as evidenced by the times that he detected her smile or laugh. For his part, Sebastian learned that "Miss Jarvis" is NOT her father. He learned of her courage, her resourcefulness, her passion towards justice which mirrors his own. She prodded at him and annoyed him but she also made him laugh a couple of times. And he saw firsthand that she's not made of ice, that there is a warm and vulnerable woman underneath it all but no less strong for it. I think this quote sums it quite nicely: "Sebastian tossed aside the assassin's garments and walked up to her. She stood tall and elegant and perfectly composed, despite her blood drenched gown and the fact that she'd just fought off two assassins and killed a man. She was an incredible woman."
She's definitely a strong willed woman and I think she's more than capable of managing Sebastian, lol. Even Gibson got a laugh at their exchanges in his home.
They've gone from total dislike to begrudging respect and admiration. I look forward to the development of that.
Great quote Veronica and it really epitomizes Hero. She's amazing and definitely not a woman you want to mess with!
Yes, I still laugh when Hero pretty much orders Sebastian to accompany her and he whispers to Gibson that he knows where to look for his body if he disappears. :-)
