Were you aware that the assassination of Spencer Perceval, the Prime Minister, is an historical fact?

message 2: by Charlene (new)

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments No. I appreciated the author's endnotes telling us what was historical and what she adapted for the plot of her story.

message 3: by Phrynne (new)

Phrynne | 607 comments I knew he was assassinated. I like the way the author handles her facts and her fiction. She knows her stuff!

message 4: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I had no idea, so of course I looked it up in the Wikipedia when the plot starts developing. I love how Harris incorporates real people and events into the storyline so smoothly.

I didn't know, either, but after he was assassinated, it occurred to me that the event was true. I did the Wikipedia search, too:)

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I had no idea either so, like everyone else, I googled it. :-)
This is something that Harris does with regularity, working in some bit of true history into the narrative.

To be honest..the name sounded familiar but I wasn't entirely sure if he was a real figure.
