Andrea and Barbara Game of Thrones Buddy Read

We are attempting to read this monster of a book. Anyone want to join feel free.

I'm excited to finally get to this! My biggest fear is getting all of the characters confused.

[Andrea]

It's told from multiple points of view so you shouldn't get to confused. I didn't in the first fifty pages.

[Andrea]

I should be getting started on this soon. I am looking at it and listening to it taunt me due to it's daunting size.

[Inky]

I feel the same way. Lol. I'm only through the prologue. Okay let's set a date. No more slacking. We WILL get through this!!

[Andrea]

I don't want to set to early of a date but I don't want to set to late of a date because then we'll slack tons. lol. I also need to take into account my vacations from the 24th to the 2nd of June. Plus my oldest has a field trip on the 6th of May. I'm a busy mommy the next two months lol...

Oh and what did you think of how many times he said the word black?

So fun fact, I just realized that I got the audiobook of this on Audible a while ago. Score! Now I can listen to it while I'm reading. Yay! And I'm not that far in so I haven't noticed and overuse of black but I'll keep my eyes open for it!

It is on page 2 that it happens. I am on page 140. I looked at the book yesterday and even opened it but then my boys got into a fight and well that stopped the reading of the book.

Oh! Wow yeah, I just reread it and you're right. That is an excessive use of the black. Lol.

[Andrea]

It killed me for a week. I just kept thinking "Oh Lord the whole thing is going to be written this way."

[Inky]

I really REALLY hate Viserys. Seriously, he creeps me out and I want to punch him.

[Andrea]

I know right. I have been trying to read at least two people's point of view a night but some days recently I just haven't been feeling it because of the slump.

[Inky]

I'm doing some major catchup with the book so it's fine. School was obnoxiously reading intense this month so pleasure reading took a backseat. I'm only on chapter 5 but I plan to make a huge dent in it tonight by physical reading or by audio book. What chapter or page are you up to?

About 150 pages in.

Okay I'll see how far I can get tonight =)

I am trying to read it on the car pool line since I am in it for so long.

[Andrea]

I'm a hundred and sixty pages in. I've only read ten more pages since I last posted. I am doing an epic fail of major proportions on this book right now.

Okay Barbara, I got stuck on page three hundred. Where are you at? I need some encouragement please.
