P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 1760 comments Bernadette Joyce is delighted to announce that she is releasing the ebook form of her novel: The Effects of Henry's Cage.: Elean's Story.

And when she has worked out how to do it she is having a giveaway of the print version. Please do get your names down for a copy.

Lesley | 1594 comments I absolutely endorse getting your names down for a copy. It's a very good story, and I wish Bernie absolute success with both print and ebook formats.

Can I ask, without giving too much away, will we one day get to join Elean in her continuing life story soon?

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 1760 comments Vol 2 now being edited. End of year we hope.

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 1760 comments Okay everyone, May 11 -15th is a Kindle Countdown reduction on 'The Effects of Henry's Cage: Elean's story' and 'Tizzie'.

Both reduced to 99cent or 99 pence.

Tizzie
AND
The Effects of Henry's Cage.: Elean's Story.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 220 comments Good luck with the KCD! Are you managing to reduce the price in NZ? The Kindle Countdown Deals don't seem to be available in NZ despite being part of the .com empire. I've just had a KCD for 99c/99p but a GR Kiwi told me my book remained at $3+. Needless to say, I was disappointed.

Lesley | 1594 comments KCD has never included NZ, just as the many kindle books that are not available for purchase to NZ readers. Publishers blame authors, authors blame publishers, both blame Amazon, so ...!

ETA: I would pay even more if my account was with Amazon Australia! For example One Dark Night is now $3.03 (NZ$4.33) to me on .com, but on .com.au it is $3.99 (NZ$4.35 but with extra cost on double currency conversion fees - A$ to US$ to NZ$). I guess it is still better than having to pay NZ$12-17 for ebooks purchased in NZ.

Anna Faversham (annafaversham) | 220 comments Didn't we just know it! Grrr...

P.D.R. Lindsay (pdrlindsay) | 1760 comments No, Anna, as Ella's Gran says the countdowns and promos only work for the UK and the USA. I think I've got Canada too this time.

Amazon is very difficult. They are doing everything to become a monopoly and tempting writers with their paument per page and per library loan etc if you keep your book exclusively with them.
You can't blame writers for going with them when they get paid.

I prefer Smashwords and will be doing a discount there later. Right now Writer's Choice simply want to promote themselves and some of their books.
