Jane Mackay (janemac) | 1 comments Hi Miriam,

Authors' and editors' understanding of the terminology -- line editing, copy editing, developmental editing, etc. -- varies so greatly, so I'm not sure exactly what you're seeking re. line editing.

If and or when your book is ready for copy editing -- my copy editing service deals with grammar, punctuation, syntax, terminology, semantics, spelling, style and voice, clarity and flow, inconsistencies, accuracy of content and context, adherence of text to style requirements -- I'd love to give you a quote and also provide a sample edit of 750 words.

I've worked with many individual authors and I enjoy editing horror and fantasy. I also have a great appreciation of the just plain weird.

I grew up in New Zealand, spent 20 years in the US, and am now in Europe (Italy), so I'm familiar with English idiomatic usage on both sides of the pond.

My website is http://janemac.net/copyedit.html

Let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best,
Jane

Tom (tom_shutt) | 13 comments Hi Miriam,

I'd also like to throw my services in the ring for your consideration! I have experience working in both US and UK English, also in fiction and nonfiction (though I do have a heavier background in horror, dystopian, and fantasy novels).

You can find testimonials and estimated rates on my website, www.MainLineEditing.com, and I'd be happy to give a free sample edit of the first 1500 words or so of your manuscript.

Cheers,
Tom
